  2. Thanks chaps, its just I've searched on the forums for Newlyn and they don't appear shy about sending bailiffs round! Should I not send any letters and just wait it out then? How can companies such as CEL continue to do this then? Is it not deception?
  3. This is the latest one, sorry I originally put it in the bin. Thanks for the advice so far too. I have just drafted two letters, one to CEL and one to Newlyn, is it not worth sending these then? CEL: Dear Sirs, Re: Your letter dated xxxxxxxx Reference:xxxxxxx I acknowledge receipt of your captioned letter. It seems that you have got my details from the DVLA and I confirm I am the keeper of the vehicle in question. You need to take this matter up with the driver concerned. Please do not correspond with me any further on this matter except to confirm that you will be not taking the matter any further with me as the registered keeper of the vehicle. Yours faithfully and Newlyn: Dear Sirs, Re: Your letter dated xxxxxxxx Reference:xxxxxxxxxx This alleged debt is now in dispute. I have written to your principal who have failed to substantiate their claim. In the circumstances please refer this matter back to your client. Any further correspondence from you in relation to this matter may result in a complaint to the authorities under the Protection From Harassment Act 1997. Yours faithfully
  4. I have just recieved another letter from them instructing me to pay within 14 days or the bayliffs may come round and I will be taken to court! How likely is this to happen and how do I stop them from hassling me? Crem, what usable information have I left on? thanks
  5. Hi, A while a go I got this parking ticket for parking in KFC too long with my friends; I was told to ignore it as non council tickets can't be enforced. Well just today I have received this one; It looks like they have contracted it out to someone else with an even more extortionate fee. Is this legal and is there anything I could/should do? Thanks all.
  6. I've won Got the letter today about the costs etc.. Thanks all, i'll donate later.
  7. ^... I've read the FAQ just want some clarification from other people. £74.00 and £30.00 seem to have been deposited.
  8. Really need some advice at this point folks, thanks.
  9. Right, 2 things happened today. 1) Got a letter from Halifax saying 2 of the fines were perfectly justifiable. £35 was charaged due to not having enough clear funds for the direct debit. £39.00 deducted for the same reason, direct debit not enough funds. They say the charge for 18th July 2006.. err 2006? I assume they mean 2005, will be refunded as I did have enough cleared balance. 2) Got a notice that 'The acknowledgement of service has been filed' What is this and what does it mean? It says they will be defending all of this claim on the back! Also I have just noticed £74.00 'cash' has been put into my account today? I'm confused.
  10. Update: Got a letter from Halifax in correspondence to the LBA (even though I have issued the Money claim) saying that they are having difficulties obtaining their archived records. They say they are not taking the **** and that they are dissapointed they can't give me a conclusive reponse today. Are they trying or am I just niave? 'The hope to be in a posistion to offer a full response in 14days'
  11. Cheers guys, it was firefox that was the problem. I have sent it now although I couldn't include the interest bit as it went over the 24 line limit by quite a way but it's only for a smallish amount anyway. Thanks.
  12. cheers for that. Is 8% the standard interest rate? What's the 0.31 rate? Also is this interest the interest on the charges or the interest if you went into an O/D? Moneyclaim seem to be having technical difficulties, won't let me submit my claim.
