  1. They kept calling me too, but never getting my name quite right, so I felt perfectly justified in insisting that nobody of that name lives here! Eventually they removed the number from their system and don't ring any more.
  2. Hi, I've recently had late payment charges on 2 LTSB credit cards. This pushed one of the cards over the limit incurring another £12 on top of that. When I made the next payment I did not include the late payment charges they'd added on to the minimum payments, so they added further charges. These cards were originally an accucard and an Easy card both of which LTSB bought out. I have noticed that the interest rates have crept up to much higher than when the cards were taken out also and when I received the last replacement card it stated "for details of the interest rate please refer to your original agreement. I'm therefore thinking it's time to challenge them for agreements. I've been reading up on the latest CCA info as I'm a bit rusty and things have moved on since I last did this. I'd really appreciate any advice, because it looks a bit confusing nowadays. Adding late payment charges onto the minimum payment really annoys me. How do they expect someone who has struggled to make the basic payment be able to pay all their add ons? Does anyone know please whether adding late payment charges onto minimum payments has been successfully challenged? I'm thinking of sending a standard CCA request letter with an added bit challenging the charges. Any further suggestions would be appreciated.
  3. Subbing, just about to start down the same path, with lovely LTSB
  4. Thankyou everyone for your support and for caring about the outcome. At the moment there's something of a waiting game going on, but when there's some solid news I'll pass it on. Fred is definitely not giving up and neither am I.
  5. Thanks FlyboyAgain, we're on the case!
  6. The Appellant Notice has been filed asking for leave to appeal, so we now await developments. Thanks everyone for your support.
  7. Thanks for your commiserations one and all. We're on the case. All avenues have not yet been explored;)
  8. I agree and no it was one we hadn't seen before.
  9. Thanks for the wise advice BRW and for all the info about appeals. We will be on the case rest assured. I hope everyone will understand if I can't give too much info for now, but will as soon as it's safe to do so.
  10. Thankyou Yorky. What a long time ago it seems since this all started and you came along with help and support all the way back then. We'll get there. Just need a second wind and a good rest for a day or two.
  11. Thankyou Ida. Fred and I really appreciate how understanding everyone is. I would dearly love to pour out everything, but to be honest I think the situation speaks for itself. One day I promise the full story will be told and in the meantime I'll say as much as I can. Thankyou everyone, your suport and understanding is priceless. For now it will take a day or two I think to plan the next step and we need a good long sleep.
  12. Hi everyone thankyou so much for all your support. It means so much after a day like this I can tell you:eek: It's been a long day. Fred gave it everything he'd got, as did his McKenzie friend and I. I wish I could go into detail about what happened, but I think you get the picture. Thanks conniff for your wise warning too. I expect you've all noticed I haven't had much to say lately and the need to be cautious has been the reason. Onwards and upwards;)
  13. My intuition says they'll plough on
  14. As ready as we'll ever be, thanks citizenB. When it's all over, I'll phone, Annushka, and she can post a quick summary to give everyone the news. That way you'll get to know a bit quicker than if I have to get home first. I can't believe it's finally coming to the end after sooooo long.
  15. Thankyou everyone for your good wishes. I'll keep you updated.
  16. Me too, scuzziemoo. It could be a long day.
  17. Yes I like that, thanks middenmess V Day it is!
  18. The final hearing day is now looming and Fred is as ready as he'll ever be. There hasn't been anything to report, but when it's all over I'll report back and let everyone know what's happened. The time allocated for the hearing is the whole day, so please remember to keep your fingers and toes crossed . May 13th is D Day.
  19. Hi everyone. Just to let you know that there's nothing to report. Nothing except an eerie silence. As soon as there's something concrete to report I'll let you all know. Not long now to 13th May though.
  20. Hi everyone, this is just a little update to let you know that the super dooper new amended defence and counterclaim has been filed and so now we await the reply and defence, which is due by 9th March.
  21. I agree with you, Pebsham. I genuinely have no idea what's happened to TLD, but I do know we owe him a lot. BTW Welcome, to Grouchocat. I see that was your first post. Glad you've enjoyed the thread.
  22. The two applications were to put the claimant to strict proof of the caution and to strike out their case. Fred's new McKenzie friend, lets call him the Stig , knows the right way to draft the documents and is going to do it all properly in a way which will be much better than Fred and I did before, so the applications having been traded away is ok. Nothing else has happened that you're unaware of, and yes you're right Fred had been given permission for his previous amended defence and counterclaim. It's just that the Stig can do a better job, so that's why a new defence and counterclaim are going to be filed. The court is happy because they were able to give back the enormous pile of bundles and a streamlined one willl be filed.
