  1. Lattie is right - as usual Small claims, without Contractual interest have, in my experience, been settled quickly..they only seem to drag it out if you claim CI However, we are in a different game now with the OFT case, maybe it is a reason to claim CI for all claims if it means that ALL claims are stayed , with the decision delayed for many many months, all the more reason to go for CI since they have benefited from using your money for so much longer - Just my opinion
  2. Thanks Gary..wise words...after some deep breaths, yoga meditation, and further reading on the Human Rights issue, I can see a way forward...just needed an alternative to sitting passively and waiting ! Thanks
  3. OK.. points taken... but this is so unjust... how can they justify deferring your right to claim legal remedy for your "injury" ? Does European court of Human Rights have anything pertinent to say here ? (Genuine question) Gary, I greatly respect your opinion, but "angry mob" is the terminology of the press, not a description of people who have followed the tortuous legal route (with excellent help from you and others here) only to be denied their recourse to the courts at the last minute, IMHO
  4. Hi momma. I think we should all send in letters opposing the stay..there are links here - but I don't know how to copy them - it is so unjust... the banks just get to sit back with impunity... we must challenge them
  5. Parian, Shelley... We should keep in touch....it is a travesty that they are able to further delay things... . .Are you both in Cardiff? How about a meeting to discuss tactics on Sat 11th ... they cannot ignore hundreds of us objecting to stays surely ??
  6. It seems to me that there are going to be hundreds of very angry claimants around South Wales in the next couple of days. Maybe we should all turn up on the day anyway to show our disgust at our treatment... as well as submitting objections to the stay.Do they really expect us to sit down and wait months when we have already been waiting so long?
  7. Hi Sha Very frustrating all this. I think we should object to the stay. I am going to send the letter in. In fact when I spoke to the court this morning they told me everything was going to proceed as normal. I don't think we should accept this without a fight.
  8. In my case, and in many others I gather, DG have still not sent in Draft directions, and I think my AQ crossed in post with the General Form of Judgement letter.... so I just more or less repeated what I attached to AQ. Still have the opportunity to speak at the Directions hearing if necessary
  9. Hi... I same thing happened to me ...AQ sent me..I responded including draft orders for directions, then a couple of days later I received the Genreal From of Judgement, setting a date for a Directions hearing (14th August together with 300 others! ) I called to court for advice, they said AQ was still needed but I could also submit my requests to the Dricections hearing, so sent the Draft orders again and will turn up on the day. I agree with PEte - I think this is just a strategy the courts are using to put pressure on the banks and to clear their decks. I would say you should send the draft orders again to the court..and to CG Solicitors.
  10. Hiya Sha ...did you hear the news today ? .... "our " judge ..Higginbottom..was the one who today gave reprieve to the Welsh bullock with bovine TB.....so maybe you should change your name to Welsh baa baa (like I thought it was !!! ) .... he is obviously in favour of standing up for Welsh animals
  11. Hi Charlie & Botsy ..np .... my experience is that meeting all different kinds of people with one aim in common is a great experience...so..with Stadium's permission to hijack her thread we can co-ordinate things here..keep in touch
  12. Hey Lattie & FL .....why so curious ??? We met around a Welsh flag...as previously arranged by Stadium... we're organised down here !! but Freaky is right about memory probs - certainly in my case lol:( As for Sha..fact that she's not here now probably speak volumes - I had to leave early to go to work - But it was great to meet up with others .... I'm sure you both be welcome to next gathering on 14th.....
  13. Dave'sGran Have a look at this thread First few posts give advice on what to submit to directions hearing See you there on 14th maybe Re: Cardiff directions hearings 14th August *POST HERE*
  14. Hi DG....don't panic. Lots of claims are being listed in Cardiff for 14th August. These are directions hearings and is a strategy the courts are using to prut pressure on the banks to settle sooner. There are apparently 300 - 400 of us all on the same date - 14th August at 10.30 - clearly they can't hear us all, they - don't expect to. Check out my thread, and Welshbaba 's and others. Some of us met up in CArdiff yesterday for moral support ( and a quick drink !) But do not panic - this is good news that you are to be added to the list OK ? The General From of judgement order will probably have said you can submit your opinions on how the hearing should be conducted, and/or attend. You can do either or both. I have done both. Will post link to what to say if you want to submit something..it is called "A draft order for Dricections" You might find it on one of the threads before I do .... I am a bit slow. !!!
  15. Thanks Stadium - your support is much appreciated. I'm just starting to get stuff together for the court bundle now, I know it is not needed for the hearing on 14th, but just want to be prepared. Will pop in to the Debt forum later in week. Thanks for the advice
  16. Hmmm...can't remember who was taking the notes FL lol ! ..but it was really good to meet people in person and feel the support. Next date is 14th August - hearings are at 10.30 ..... so we should all be in pub again by about 10.40 !!
  17. Just managed to get to work...but was suffering Lunchtime drinking is a killer.... not going to do it again..until the 14th August that is, when hopefully WE will be buying !! Thanks again for organising event.
  18. Hi Sha Good to meet you and the others yesterday. Hope the rest of the evening went well - I was struggling a bit a work lol ! Looking forward to meeting up again on 14th - for some celebrations M
  19. Hi S. Thanks very much for co-ordinating the meet yesterday. Very nice to meet you and the others. Great to put faces to names and feel the solidarity.Hope rest of the evening went well and that we can repeat it again soon, - 14th August is only 4 weeks away..so hope to see you again then.
  20. Congrats GW...it IS a victory ....on your terms...better the money is in your pocket than in theirs Enjoy it
  21. Hi Sha Are you able to make it to Prince of Wales pub (St Mary St) tomorrow? Looks like there will be a dozen or so of us there..from 1pm....top of the stairs just to research best hostleries for the 14th !!
  22. Hi Manic Just came across your thread via De1954's thread. Did you know about the get together for the Cardiff Crew TOMORROW at Prince of Wales pub in St Mary St from 1 pm - top of the stairs. Seems there are about a dozen of us down for the 14th meeting there. Arcadium_stadium has been organising I only got to know of it yesterday. Maybe see you there - If not then on 14h
  23. Hi Y'All Just come across your post SA (Stadium arcadium that is ...not the Brains beverage) ...will see you there....tho only briefly as I work in Chapter Arts Centre bar later in the evening. Looking forward to meeting everyone
  24. Hiya Shell Don't worry. I seem to be the odd one out - having to file AQ. I got the AQ request from court, then 5 days later the General Form of Judgement regarding the Directions hearing on 14th. Phoned court to see if I still needed to submit AQ, they said yes...maybe because my claim is for £5k +, which includes Contractual Interest. Advice on most threads seems to be to hold off on FULL court bundle for the moment - this is still only a DIRECTIONS hearing. My notice (see above) says I may submit written representations to court and DG by 3rd Aug (7 WORKING days before hearing) I am going to follow the wonderful LAtties advice on this (see her post today on Parian's thread. Hopefully this will be enough to spur DG into action....but don't hold your breath
  25. All meet up in a pub !! ??? Think we'll need the Millenium Stadium
