  2. lets look at things without emotion. A passenger approaches the gate and says they have lost their oyster card. now that may be true or it may be not. the inspector has a number of ways of dealing with this and opts for use of a law that creates an absolute offence- ie it doesnt matter what the circumstance is there was a failure to produce a ticket/authority to travel upon demand. It may be that the inspector decided to go down this route because they wanted to be nasty but that doesnt change the law or the lack of ticket so your daughter has to now make an approach to the railway co to get them to consider an alternative. Stopping on

  3. So you come here for advice, and expect people independent of the industry to help you? That’s not how it works. You should expect people to tell you the truth here and not simply tell you what you want to hear. All I’m guilty of here is actually trying to help you, in a realistic approach. If you’re blinkered by what your daughter has said, that’s your problem as far as I’m concerned. Rather than getting on your high horse, how about a “thanks for your help”? It’s common courtesy to acknowledge somebody when they’ve advised you, not just get on the back foot. It now becomes ever more evident that this issue here proba

  6. Hi all, i think you may be right guys, i dropped him off at Catterick yesterday for the start of his training, and will just let him move on now. I was more aggrieved than him yes, so I will let it lie, and I'm sure he will learn from it. I'm sure the employer will come unstuck one day. Thank you all.

  7. Hello, he may be out of time for a claim on his apprenticeship, depending on when he moved from apprentice to labourer. I think it might be a breach of contract from the employer's side. How long ago was that please? If your son gave more notice than he had to, then the company can counter with a shorter notice period; so he may not be as many days out of pocket as you first think. Although I doubt they documented it properly from what you say! Ultimeately I think this may come down to "does your son want the hassle?" It's a relatively cheap lesson learned on the way to his proper career.

  9. Then why not contact Registry Trust and ask if a judgment was ever placed/removed ? Then we know for definite and can advise accordingly.

  11. Do you wish to make payments against a debt thats statue barred ...? Your choice Say for arguments sake they wish to force sale.....in their application they have to detail the debt and details of the charge. They cant rely on the normal reason......defendant didnt pay the judgment...there is no judgment....defendant wont pay the debt.....debt is statute barred. See where this is going.?

  12. I totally understand that you feel aggrieved. But does he? Because your aren't suggesting that he does. He is, quite literally, going to have to fight his own battles now. What does he want to do?
