  1. Yes Sequency is right on all counts. The SB date on an overdraft would commence when the account is called in, if this is a pre-arranged overdraft the bank would have to issue a default notice under the CCA before termination , this would then be the SB date. If this is drawing on an agreed overdraft limit(tacit agreement) then it is most likely re-callable under a term of the agreement, in which case they should have issued a section 76 notice this would be the date of the commencement of the SB date in this case. The date of your last payment into the account is irrelevant in any case, and as said overdrafts are running acc

  2. I am fully aware of the requirements of the Police advanced standard, I qualified as an instructor during my service, and I have been an advanced examiner for over 30 years. But now that you have taught me to suck eggs and revealed your background, it is shameful that in one sentence you undo a lot of work done by many others in trying to educate the motoring public in Motorway driving by returning to phrases and descriptions that have never existed. You of all people should know better, and yes call it pedantic if you wish, but when it comes to driver education, there is no half measures, and you of all people should know better.

  4. I think you need statements of account for every month the account was running. When did you actually last make any payment on the account. When did you make a claim for PPI ? Who did you send the PPI claim to ? It is possible the PPI claim was rejected as the claim was not submitted within the timescales required by the terms of the cover. I think you need to contact the PPI provider to find out whether the claim was registered with them.

  5. Handbrakes are notorious on rear disc setups. They invariably seize and replacement of parts, (disc/pads), will never cure a problem if there is no problem with them to start with. The mechanism would require removing and cleaning and then reassembling. Even if the pads and discs were worn way beyond the recommended limits, it wont stop a properly working handbrake from doing it's job, and tightening the cable will have no affect whatsoever. You could well do with a second opinion from maybe a dealer.
