  2. Just so you are aware the Consumer Action Group was approached to offer advice on the making of this episode. http://www.itv.com/tvguide/ Buy Today, Pay Tomorrow? "Households are currently borrowing more than a billion pounds a month in a spending spree that is fuelling a dangerous debt crisis, which could leave many people teetering on the edge of serious money troubles. Adam Shaw investigates whether Britain is heading for a new credit crunch. News " Initially I was invited to advise on debts of a debtor that will feature in this episode. Prioritising all his debts (around 10.5 K and how to deal with the mounting pressure he was being placed under.. Analysing his various debts and what stage he was at in line with who they were owed to and the age of the debts and explaining the Credit Consumer Act legislation etc.. ITV came to my home and interviewed me and was filming for over 2 hours..talking about the debtor and how Consumer Action Group works and the benefits/expertise of our forum over the more traditional methods. Unfortunately I have been informed today that the interview which would have probably been edited down to about 5 mins will not feature on Thursdays episode because of the way the episode has been edited and that there is no real conclusion to the debtors position even though a lot more clearer that our piece did not really fit in with the flow of the programme. However we will get acknowledgement on the titles and we will be linked into " Tonight's " Social Media should people require further details of this forum.....

  4. Hi I'm new to this i was served a section 21 in Aug and the end date is today. Since having this notice my landlord entered my property and changed locks I found out an rung police to which they arrived when he was leaving for him to tell them he was told it was unsecured so he acted on it. This was not the case he was told to hand key over an did so . today is the day the section 21 is over and I've not been able to get a removal company to get my things and I'm starting to panic. I have been reading that if I don't leave he is to apply to court for possession order is this true? And if so how do I tell him I'm not leaving as he will be expecting the keys tonight. He's not a very nice person to deal with either . If anyone could help I'd be eternally great full
  5. I received a statutory demand tonight for a debt I do not dispute but cannot afford to pay in full. I agreed a payment plan in May but then lost my job, I have been able to find another job which goes permanent next week. I have emailed the solicitors tonight to see if they will agree to the original payment plan. Do I need to write to the court, or fill certain forms out. The demand is dated 6th Sept but only received it tonight and it says I need to reply with 18 days, should I seek advice from a solicitor. any advice will be very welcome.

  8. Mentally ill woman 'given doorstep loans by Provident Financial Investigators went undercover at Provident Financial, which has 1.8million customers, and say they found cases of lending that appeared to breach industry guidelines. They interviewed the mother of the unnamed woman, who requires constant care but was allegedly given loans totalling several thousand pounds over a number of years. The investigation, carried out by the BBC’s Panorama programme, claims one of the company’s agents acknowledged that the schizophrenic woman was ‘not all there’. The programme also claims to show a Provident seller calling on another customer and accepting that she doesn’t think the woman can look after herself. The company said: ‘Provident has strict policies to prevent loans being advanced to anyone it believes does not have the mental capacity to understand the terms of the loan. ‘However, with 1.8million customers we recognise that we will not always get it right and if we make a mistake we work hard to put matters right.’ Panorama – Undercover: Debt on the Doorstep is on BBC1 at 8.30pm tonight. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2211006/Mentally-ill-woman-given-doorstep-loans-Britains-biggest-lenders-despite-knowing-schizophrenic.html
