I called Barclaycall last night and requested back statements from March 2000 for 2 of my Barclays accounts. No problem at all just had to pay £5 for each set of statements!

Good. Amazing, though the lack of consistency - even within the same company

  • 2 years later...

hi all,

some time ago i used this site to obtain my bank statements from the ulster bank, resulting in a refund of over 5000 pounds for my accounts!!

thank you consumer action group

recently i have used the templete letter to ask for my statements again, this time for tax purposes,

the branch failed to respond, i contacted them yesterday by phone to explain, the response was that

they would not send me out my statements as there is a current court case pending, which means that they can "stay" any actions in relation to my request...

i once again clarified that my reasons for the request was not for reclaiming fees, but for tax return reasons.

i was told the same information but offered a duplicate set of account statements for the price of £8 pounds per page!!!!

which could amount to a serious amount of money for what is merely a photocopy / print out.

i asked to speak to the department that dealt with the request, to which i was told, they do not take phone calls from customers nor emails

the only option open is to purchase the accounts from the bank.

does anyone else find this a tad ridiculous? is it not just another way for the banks to rip me off?

all help to resolve this matter would be appreciated on this , the deadline is jan 31st ~"!

thanks
