:?: Hi everyone I am just about to send off my S.A.R, and have been reading all the FAQs and threads etc but am a bit confused as to the best address to write to. People seem to use different addresses. I first thought i'd address it to my own branch, but am wondering if I should post it elsewhere to speed up the process?

Sorry if this question has been answered before and I havent seen it, I have been reading this forum for about four days solid now I promise!

Thanks in advance

Kat

Update

Have been on holiday since leaving my last post, hence the delay.

As I said in my last post, I was due to send my letter, however, the day I was going to send it, I spoke to the adviser at the bank who is sorting out a loan for me and has been very helpful. (If you're interested see my other thread Should I accept an interest free loan before claiming my charges back?) I had asked her to chase up two recent £38 returned DD charges to get them refunded straight away as I thought it was worth a try. Anyway she got back to me that day and said she couldn't get them refunded because of all the claims that have been going on. She offered to look at getting my charges refunded for me for the last six years and all I had to do was write a letter to her at my branch and she would do the rest. I asked her whether I should calculate how much my charges have been over the last 6 years and she said i didn't need to bother as the bank would do all that for me!

I did think about doing what she said but then I got a little bit suspicious. So with me being away on holiday I still haven't done anything yet. I think I'm going to go with the original plan and do it the proper way but I just wanted to see what you all think?

Thanks in advance

Kat

Ok, even though the branch staff have been really good, I still don't trust the bank, I'm sure they'll try to wriggle out of some of the charges so I decided to go with the official way and not take any risks. Have now sent my SAR with my £10 by recorded/signed for delivery. I will now wait for my statements, hope they come quickly.

I checked with Royal Mail and my SAR was delivered on Tuesday 3rd April, so now I'm just waiting for my statements.

Does anyone know how long they're taking at the moment? I hope its not the full 40 days, I want to get calculating!!

Anyone at the same stage or slightly further forward then me? I'm trying to find someone so I can follow their progress.

Thanks Dawnie, dont worry youre not thick! A thread is just another word for topic, e.g my topic is Kat v RBoS. Each thread contains the original message and then all the replies from everyone else.

Having your own thread allows you to document your whole process from start to finish. Everybody starts with their own story and then people reply with help and advice and it all gets shown in chronological order.

People suggest you have a thread because when you start to ask for advice, people can read back to the beginning of your process in order to help you better. It's good because it helps you remember dates etc and you can go over what people have said to you previously.

To start your own thread just go to the main part of the RBoS forum and click on New Thread or click on the link below. Give it a title to show what you're talking about and then you can write your first post.

Hi i've got this charge on my statement. This is how it's set out:

CHG GTEE CARD PAYMENT FEE

POS 30.45 35.00

It relates to a card payment I made in a shop the same day for the 30.45 but dont know what they could have charged me £35 for?

Anyone know what it could be and whether I can claim it??

Thanks I'll wait til court stage before I add on the interest . I'm just doing my spreadsheet, do you know what the formula is for working out the days since offence column? and how to apply it? I've got it from the spreadsheet template in the template in the tenplate library but I cant get it to work. It won't give me a whole number, I'm wondering whether it's anything to do with the formatting of the cell?
