New veterans ID cards rolled out to service leavers

All service leavers will receive a new ID card to mark their time in the armed forces.

A new ID card for armed forces veterans, which will help them access specialist support and services, has started to be issued to service leavers.

From today, any personnel who have left the military since December 2018 will automatically be given one of the new ID cards, which will allow them to maintain a tangible link to their career in the forces.

The cards allow veterans to easily verify their service to the NHS, their local authority, and charities, helping them to access support and services where needed.

All other veterans will be able to apply for a new ID card by the end of this year, to mark their time in the armed forces.

should be backdating it 30yrs..let the Iraq vets get the help they need instantly.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

IMO It is a nice gesture but to little to late as usual for the MOD.

I have to also agree with your statement as well.

One thing they have not taken into account is how are Homeless Veterans/Ex Forces meant to know about this???

I hope that the charities the ex forces homeless interact with will publicise this widely so they can get the maximum help that they need

myself as ex forces agree with both your comments of this being too late, but hopefully it will be easy to apply and will actually make providers listen and get veterans the help they need and deserve

I personally have had issues with a GP and also my hospital about my status which I eventually got sorted out but was a long drawn out process
