Okay, thanks for letting us know. I'm very pleased that you and your family are now warm.

Got a call from BG executive office this morning - they phoned friday as well.

Offered me £75 compensation for the hassle. Of course, they're blaming the part that they took on rather than the new boiler they fitted. Fair point, but surely they should check existing stuff before they take it on and install a new boiler and it did take 4 engineers to work out what the problem was.

BTW - thanks for the help on here guys. much appreciated.

Its part and parcel...any experienced engineers worth their salt would always recommend replacing the old pump when installing a new modern boiler...before installation commenced...did they cover the cost of the new pump ?

We could do with some help from you.

Yes they did replace the pump FOC.

Only because the deal is that if you buy a new boiler off them they cover the entire system for a year. As you say, though, I'd have expected:-

1) For them to confirm the pump was fine to be used with the new boiler they sold me.

2) Not have to have 3 visits to work out what the problem was.
