DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

This sounds more like a DCA. Process servers don't give you a heads up that you are about to be served because they would probably have people evading them purposely.

If its official from Court it would be posted......your not evading anything legal are you ? :-D

Is there any consequence in refusing to meet him?

Surely you must have some idea what this is about ?

You would have had letters about this previously, but if you have moved address in recent months, the letters might have gone to a previous address.

We could do with some help from you.

The caller is using a mobile phone (starting with 07). Given that he knows your mobile number, then the most sensible thing to do is to send a TEXT message.

Just simply state that you are very wary of 'spoof' or [problem] messages and that you need to know before speaking with the person the precise details of who he is....who he represents...and details of the 'supposed' creditor.

not going though a divorce?

it is usual for a process server to just turn up and had you the paperwork, not bother you by phone. If they cant serve then they have to fill out another form and it goes back to the court but generally this will mean that you will have some notification as to what it is about in the form of previous letters. Also the papers are normally seved on a particular address and the the process server asks for the person to identify themselves and hands over the papers. I had this when servingpapers on the boss of a large company, couldnt post them or email. had to be served to that person by hand. If in the case of an office block the reception refuse to help the process server can call the police and have the receptionist arrested so phone calls just dont ring true

It does look as though someone is fishing rather than serving court papers.

How so?. Is the process server an officer of the court?

What offence does a receptionist commit by refusing the process server access to a private building?.
