I was out of work 4 years ago and agreed a 5 year payment plan with MBNA for a credit card debt (14,000),

they stopped the interest ,

I have been paying this for 4 years +3months never defaulted ,

I have now received a letter saying they have now sold my debt (1900.00) to The PRA Group …

.yesterday I received 3 calls from them which i have not responded to....what happens now?

the letter from MBNA says I don't need to do anything and PRA group will carry on the agreement so why are they calling me?

any advice appreciated!

cause that's what DCA's do

harass you

that's all they can do.

they are totally powerless and NOT BAILIFFS.

tell us more about the card debt please...………

when did you take this out

is it on you credit file?

whats the defaulted date?

any PPI or penalty charges too?

£14k is a mammoth amount for a card...…

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Sorry struggled to find this info as always had statements online which I now cannot access as they have closed the account,

looked at credit file

I took the card out in 2014

I defaulted in June 2015 showing as early arrears on my account 2016,

which then showed as sustained arrears,

then changed to payment arrangement in Nov 2015 which i have been paying ever since,

don't think i had PPI on the account ,

I'm just worried incase this new company wants me to make higher payments,

there is now less than £2000 outstanding and i already pay £237 a month

well they cant!!

they are totally powerless

all they could do, which is exactly the same as you or I is issue a court claim and try and get more

they wouldn't win either as estoppel will probably prevail.

you are correct you never ever converse about your debts with ANYONE over the phone WRITING ONLY..

pers i'd drop them down a few £'s if you cant afford it.

please never ever pay consumer debts to ANYONE.. in preference to ANYTHING that can remove the roof from over your head..your PRIORITY debts.

rent/mortgage.

CTAX

gas/electric.

consumer debts cant!!

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..
