Hi my son had a accident in my car he is insured fully comp on his car. And i am on my car

after looking at our documents we are both not insured to drive other cars even though we are both fully comp.

He was charged with driving with no insurance.

I have just had a letter through saying that a claim has been made against my insurance even though i was not driving.

Is this possibly and what will it mean to my insurance.

If you knew he took the car then you could be charged with allowing another to drive without insurance, if you didn't then he could be charged with taking without owners consent.

Its correct that a claim is made against your insurance. They will pay out to compensate the third party. What happens after that is dependent on how heavy they want to take it.

Your insurance company (dependent on if you or your son is further charged) could try to reclaim the money paid out to the third party to either you or your son
