Father in Law received the PCN (speculative invoice) through the post. The date of the alleged offence was 22/09/18, date of PCN 01/10/18.

Interesting scenario. In Laws are Blue Badge holders and have used the car park before with no issues. They remember seeing signs on the wall saying where disabled parking were and parked there. When the PCN came through they went back to check signage to find they have all been removed.

they are saying that he parked for 30 mins and didnt pay, this is nothing to do with blue badge.

Blue badge scheme only applies to on street parking anyway, not private land so they shouldnt think that it does.

So we will need to see the sigange at the car park and as it is P&D the terms specified on the parking meter.

Generally Smart are not smart and there will be enough wrong with their contracts to brush this aside.

DO NOT contact the parking co in the meanwhile

. The NTK contains a clause that is unlawful so renders the entire demand void under contract law.

Communicating with them will undo this advantage he currently has so dont let him be tempted to do or say anything until we have seen the signs

shame as always the press call them fines...they are not!

wording sinks them, what regulation?

as council not happy try and get them interested in bashing Smart over the head with planning consent for their signage- ie if they dont ahve it they take them down. Use the local paper you referred to to push this.

why is it the press always wrongly use the word FINE

OOh, DR+ have changed their letterhead again to look even more menacing and official like. still not licenced to handle other peope's money though. Why not just have a logo like "aut de dolo" or "dulcis aut Dolis" which is trick or treat in Latin and thus admit that they are relying on the beleif in bogeymen etc to get money out of the vulnerable.

well the paper calls them a watchdog. they arent they are the trade associaiton so of course they are going to support the people who pay them.
