Hello

I have a cc debt with NAJM in dubai after losing my job last year.

they passed the debt to a company in dubai called fast track collection.

They managed to get my work number and have been calling the office continuously so I have had to speak to them as I need to sort out the situation.

They are very aggressive and shout down the phone demanding Payment and won't even listen to my side as I would like to set up a monthly payment.

The biggest issue I have is today they have said that they are sending a legal notification to my HR dept which could cause me big problems as I work in finance industry.

Are they legally allowed to do anything direct from dubai as thought that the new uae UK debt agreement meant they have to go through UK courts to pursue the debt.

What can I do as I can't afford to lose my job any suggestion a would be greatly appreciated as need to act fast

don't know how you deal with this but it all bogus ...totally.

there NO reciprocal agreements with the UK EU or anyone else to allow ANY enforcement or recognition to UAE debts in this country to allow this to happen .

sadly you've suffered their BS on the phone too.

it cant hurt your UK status no. and your HR debt should know this already too.

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

pers its a threat we've heard of but never actually had evidence of it actually happening

so take it with a pinch of salt

next will be them ringing the world and his oyster to embarrass you into paying

every relative under the sun, mainly thru things like facebook etc etc pics.

so lock down your pers info that's out there

or even better, post about it there!!

if you want too..

protect yourself with hr that way.

they should know the score already.

have a quite word with them in person.

well if you believe the lies on certain websites that they are

most turn out to be patsy cases to generate money in fees to supposedly 'protect you' or 'help you out'

but ofcourse in the end you learn that site and that woman are actually in bed with UAE etc and not only fees but settlement figures have to be paid.

.keep to your own thread please

Just tell you employers that it is a private matter related to when you lived in Dubai.

The matter is subject to dispute in Dubai, but you cannot resolve because it is not possible to do this, given the potential issues you would face in Dubai.

If your employers are aware of the truth and you have nothing to hide, then there is no harm that the Dubai debt can cause you in the UK.

We could do with some help from you.
