Default Curry’s - badly installed dishwasher 11th Sept

After a bit of advice por favor.

New dishwasher was installed last Tuesday by Curry’s - work contracted to DO transport apparently for delivery and install.

After 4 uses, escape of water issues started occurring over the kitchen, mopping up with towels

No machines were used on Sunday - , went to work yesterday came home at 6 and the kitchen floor was flooded and a good 1-1.5 of hallway carpet was affected to by kitchen door.

Emergency plumber came out this morning with a call out fee of £75 and diagnosed that hose wasn’t tightened to mains correctly and issue should now be contained and fixed. But the water damage has gone half way up the plastered wall behind the white goods and gone through to the conservatory wall (freshly painted last week)

Rather than claim against household insuranceicon, should Curry’s/Distribution company accept liability subject to pictures and viewing damage ?

    TIA x

Yes, Currys should be completely responsible for all damage and any other losses such as the cost of waiting in for a repairer.

Don't expect them to be very helpful stop

Get all your photographs together and write to them detailing the complaint, exactly what has happened and detailed value of the damage.

Tell them that you want a reply within seven days. When you don't get a reply within seven days then send them a 14 day letter before actionicon and then sue them. Don't muck around. Currys have a shocking record for customer service. Your chances of success are better than 95%

If Currys arrange the install and you paid them then I would say that Currys is completely responsible. If you had arranged the installation separately then it would be between you and the installer
