    Default RBS neutered my account and are shutting it down in 30 days

    Yesterday I couldn't pay using my phone, cards, online banking and telephone banking disabled.

    Phoned the bank and they are shutting my account down without reason.
    Never been overdrawn, had bounced DDicon's or been in the red.

    I have to travel half and hour to nearest branch to withdraw cash.

    In the interim whilst I change everything over they have left me in a deep pile of brown stuff. I have a busted achillees, disabled kids and am on crutches. I feel like I have been treated like a criminal. They won't even tell me why!!!

    Help!!!

    I suggest that you start off by making a Subject access requesticon under GDPRicon. Do this today. It is free.

    Secondly, begin a formal complaint and tell them that you want the final responseicon and you want it to go to the Ombudsmanicon.

    Are you employed or self-employed? Have you got any record of making large or irregular payments into your account?

    Something has got RBSicon spooked i think and hence the closure of the account.
    Is the OP able to open up another account in the mean time?
