In August 2000, after divorcing my husband I kept my marital name. I now want to revert back to my maiden name, can I just go back to it or will I have to pay for a deed poll to change my name to my maiden name? If I have to pay to change my name, how much will this cost?

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

A helpful chap at DVLA advised me to change my name on my passport first as once that's done, DVLA use your passport as proof of your name. Other than driving licence and passport, I don't think I needed to provide proof to anyone else - utilities etc just accepted me reverting to my maiden name, though i seem to remember one asked for a marriage certificate, which of course you give up when you get divorced ...

Hi

As well as the deed poll, there is another way. Statutory Declaration.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/statutory-declarations

Just as easy but you need to get it witnessed by a solicitor (and pay for the privilege)

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor
