I'm under a lot of pressure.

I worked in uae for almost 4 years.

Took out a loan to cover living costs.

Couldn't afford the one year upfront costs of rental so decided to take a loan.

The bank employee told me to get the full amount as the bank wouldn't consider lending me more afterwards. Which I did.

I made regular payments to my loan and credit card without any interruptions.

I then was made redundant and told the bank that was looking for another job.

Rather than u understanding they told me to pay all the outstanding amount.

Now idrww are after me regarding my loan and still getting emails from bank regarding my credit card, which has now tripled in amount owed.

Please someone help. I have a young family and very distressed.

The others were re-employed maybe because they were Arab.

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

Hi Sambow,

I am in similar position regarding young family.

I still have a mate in UAE who made contact with the bank.

Dx is correct with what he said no need to panic.

I have another bank chasing me now but can cover this debt easily enough.

I am waiting to see if cwd do anything, they have replied to my email asking me for proof of identity.

Idrww cannot do a thing but it looks like they are the same company as cwd so expect a letter from them soon.

Hi Chelsea

I read in another post that you were able to get 90% off your loan.

Please may I ask how you did that.

It's not like I didn't want to pay it back and still do.

Thanks

Original debt was £6k with interest they made it £60k,

my mate in Middle East contacted them and haggled it down.

Said he pays original amount or you don’t get a penny and they accepted.

I paid it and am awaiting clearance from uae court to drop case against myself.

End of the day if you want to pay go directly to the bank.

Don’t pay idrww or cwd.

no such thing as interest when it comes to UAE banks, it is all fees and commissions. Sharia law applies.

Other than that, as long as you dont go back there you are safe to ignore them all. If you want to return then you try and settle.
