Hi, First time poster here!

My husband (official keeper of the car) received a Parking Charge Notice in the post from Horizon Parking and it relates to a trip I took in the car as driver.

 

The notice says I stayed 2 hours 36 minutes which is 36 minutes over the 2 hours allowed. In actual fact, I dropped my daughter at a nearby party, took the car home then returned to the car park to collect her at the end of the party.

There is a rule that says no return within an hour but I left it a fair bit longer than an hour. They just show my first entry time and last exit time hence they are making out I stayed over 2 hours.

 

They have sent pictures of the car entering and leaving the car park.

Amount due is £70.

 

What is the best course of action please?

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Date of infringement: 9th June 2018

Date on the NKT: 14th June 2018

 

Date received: 18th June 2018

 

Schedule 4 of the protections of freedoms act mentioned?: No

 

Is there photographic evidence of the event: Yes they have provided photos of my first entry and last exit.

Have you appealed? No. Not contacted them in any way yet.

Parking company is Horizon Parking.

 

Car park: Sainsbury's, Hornchurch, Essex.

Doesn't mention which appeals body they operate under.

 

Additional info:

my husband is registered keeper and the parking charge notice is addressed to him.

However it was me who took this trip to the car park.

This is typical of the parking companies buying cheap ANPR systems that are not fit for purpose.

 

If you appeal they will say they are always right and demand that you now pay up so what I would do is start by complaining to Sainsburys about their SERVANTS poor systems and quality control and request that they get this cancelled as it could be damaging to their business if it was widely known that they employed people who cant do their job properly and rely on obtaining monies by deception to make a living.

 

No need to say why you were there twice, I somrtimes go to a shop twice because I forgot the milk the first time.

Make your complaint to the Chief exec's office and try to avoid email to a customer services postbox as you may just pass on your emal address to Horizon and wash their hands of it.

 

Mike Coupe is the boss, his email is available if you search "sainsburys chief executive contact".

 

If you get no joy from them thewn come back here for advice of how to write to Horizon including a SAR for their images as you know the 2 event arrival and departure times.

 

Even deleting the middle images will land them in trouble but wording a letter correctly will ensure that they dont make assumptions about the driver (who wont be named or even indicated as to who they may be)

Good news! I went into store and spoke to the deputy manager (the Store Manager is on holiday). I explained my case and also showed him screenshots of my whereabouts that day (which I managed to get off my android phone by doing something I found out about when googling. It tracks your movements by GPS) and he's said he will get the ticket cancelled.

 

I'm so relieved.

I'm not sure I'll get confirmation . The manager just said I wouldn't hear from them again.

 

I've got his name though if I do get anything else through from the parking company.

I would be wary of relying on the word of a deputy manager, give it a week and then follow it up with the executive team and tell them that the DM promised etc etc. You have plenty of ammunition that you can use to embarrass the hell out of them on social media if they dont do as they say they will.

You want a written confirmation or the bandits will be chasing yu in 2 years time when everyone else has forgotten all about it.
