I am really sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place as I was not sure where to post this.

I use Clearscore to check my credit report every month and up to now my financial account information has always been the same and shows Santander current account, Santander credit card and Lloyds current account (Lloyds in default which drops off in six months)

Today my credit report states "one new current account added to your report" I have not opened another account and the report does not give any details at all as to what exactly this new account is.

Can anyone tell me please if this means that someone has opened something in my name? I always worry about fraud/identity theft and I am really worried about this.

It could just be a late update. Best thing to do is contact the cra and ask

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

spurious probably if it was there you'd see it!!

check noddle

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi,

I also checked my Clearscore account last week and exactly the same thing has happened as with your account, it says one new current account added to your report.

Like you I can't see any new account as the Santander current Account and Santander Credit card account are still as they have always been on my report.

I have never really worried about it and noticed my score had improved, think I'll have a look around and find out if this is happening to more people.

I checked Noodle and everything is the same as it was before, no mention of any 'new' account.

Just had a look and it seems Equifax are getting a lot of calls about this..............

Why have I received an alert about my Santander account?

Santander recently updated the way that their customers' account information was reported to us and this change in reporting triggered an alert from us to you. Please check your credit alerts section of the Equifax Member Centre to ensure that this is the only reason you received the recent alert. If this is the reason you have an alert and you have any queries/concerns please contact Equifax.

If you have any other concerns with the information shown about your Santander account on your Equifax Credit Report please contact them directly. We apologise for any confusion this may have caused.

Any advice I give is honest and in good faith.:)

If in doubt, you should seek the opinion of a Qualified Professional.

Help keep it up and active, helping people like you.

Thank you very much for your replies. I will check Noddle when my new report is generated.

Maroondevo52 thank you so much for that! Knowing it has happened to other people too is very reassuring as I was convinced something bad had happened and your reply has put mind at rest. Thank you again.
