Hi

I seem to have been the victim of partial identity theft, they have my first name , phone number , email address and part of my real address. Some also have my bank details

Anyway i have been bombarded with calls and emails and texts regarding loans, so today I went to look at my credit files to see if there were any searches. I am a member of both experian and equifax having used the free trial before and having ordered statutory reports before

Today I went on to equifax and it claims to have given me a real time up to date credit report for no fee - experian however want me to jump through hoops and pay them £2 and wait for a letter so I didn't bother.

Does anyone know if this is now standard to provide real time free credit reports ?

Any opinion I give is from personal experience .

Thanks but it doesn't really say anything I didn't know.

My question was

Has Equifax stopped charging for the statutory credit report as it would appear they have- at least in my case

Any opinion I give is from personal experience .

Hard to say Fletch without Equifax explaining more but remember... They were involved in the leaking of an astronomical amount of records and also that occurred in the UK

Also GDPR is incoming.... So they may be dropping that

All I can suggest is to contact Equifax...

Thanks

I will call them in the morning

This may explain everything - and if they know I am affected by the breach why they are giving me a free credit report

Just one more thing to add to my to do list for tomorrow :-(

Any opinion I give is from personal experience .
