Hi folks.

on here so looking for advise re paypal.

My son has been sent letter from Arvato saying he owes paypal over £1000

He has never had a paypal account but thinks an old girlfriend may have gained access to his bank etc.

Paypal have refused his appeal and wont discuss anything because he doesn't have the right email to gain access to account.

Obviously he doesn't have email as he didnt set up account!!.

They have also said they wont close account.

We closed his bank account a year ago as soon as he noticed things weren't right.

How can we get them to assure us that there is no account in his name?

And how do we deal with the debt agency?

We asked for details of debt but again they said that without email address they wouldn't discuss anything and that he should just pay up!!

Advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Firstly, please would you space out and punctuate your post properly because it is very hard for people who would love to help you to follow blocks of text.

You started off talking about a PayPal account – but then you: to talk about a debt agency.

Can you tell us more about it please. Who is the debt agency? What have they sent you so far? What was it on the bank account that you thought was not quite right?

Sorry. New to this.

Debt Agency ARVATO sent demand for paypal debt.

Son has never had paypal account but suspects ex lfriend.

Closed bank account a year ago as there were unusual activity.

One for bookkeeping firm. One for catalogue. Lotto and several paypal transactions

Paypal were not then or now willing to give us any information as they insist he uses email to access account. And he has no knowledge of email address.

ive spaced that post for you popped you in the Paypal forum.

you can safely ignore them and the DCA

they are totally powerless and are not bailiffs.

PayPal are in Luxy and do not ever do UK court.

so safe to totally ignore everything

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
