usual PR puff, confusing problems in one sector with another completely different one. All this has been said before and it was done half heartedly. the real problem the govt faces in enforcing anything is that in places like half of Birmingham, Blackburn. Oldham and many others the buying and selling and renting of properties is governed by what the imam at the local mosque says rather than any properly regulated agency. Look at the issues with Sharia courts and religious schools of all sorts, some communities are very insular and where these groups do have to interact with the wider world it rarely goes well. Not just islamic rules on loans and interest, you will see the same with some of the ultra orthodox jewish communities as well.
