hi sorry to jump in on the thread, but we also have received letters 3 years after our membership should have ended, we cancelled it and heard nothing,

3 years on had 2 letters and numerous phone calls, i blocked the numbers and ignored the debt collector.

Now received a letter from Major Law. the amount owing is £29 myself and £29 for my partner,

any ideas what i should do please, i was at a point yesterday of just paying it until i read this.

I know i cancelled this in plenty of time but i have no proof 3 years on

have you read the letter carefully and if so what exactly does it say? i bet it is just another threatogram saying if you dont pay up we wil recommend that our client takes your first born etc rather than saying we WILL sue the pants off of you

Hi Rooster,

You now have your own thread.

Can you use the advice here that was in the thread you first posted on - https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?485862-ARC-amp-Major-Law-letters-on-behalf-of-Bannatynes&p=5107268&viewfull=1#post5107268

Please confirm if yours is also an old Bannatynes and ARC (Europe) case.

:-)

We could do with some help from you

Hi

yes this is 3 years ago with Bannatynes, i have just spoken with Citizens Advice and all they have said they will pass it on to Trading Standard so if anyone else has reported it.

It would be just easier to pay but why should I lol

no you don't need to pay anything.

a DCA is not a bailiff and have zero legal powers

and ML are simply acting as a dca here too

only Bannatynes can do court

and no gym has done court in years.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi Rooster,

Please do NOT pay a penny.

In our considerable experience here over many years, Citizens Advice have NOT offered ex gym members good advice over the years.

Major Law will do nothing at all and are V safe to ignore completely !

Definitely ignore the shysters, but scan and post up their lame threat letters so we can all have a laugh at them, and how desperate they are.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!
