Hi everyone.

My father in law has a bumpy ride with One Call Insurance.

He decided on the online quote online.

Please, tell me if we being overdramamtic over the dociments request?

He send them copy of driver licence which they said they can’t recognise and asked him to contac DVLA for the code.

They asked for insurance No, is this common thing?

He is not the young bloke and stress about all af this as this going on for over two weeks.

He thought to cancel it and find easier way to insure his car but I wonder if he will be charge fines as the 14 days cancellation period is gone now.

Please, advise what he should do.

Thanks

Agy

Hi,

The Driving Licence is a standard request. I've not heard of a request for a National Insurance Number at inception, however, I presume this will be to check whether he has submitted a prior personal injury Insurance claim.

Are you able to see the Driving Licence number? If so advise them of it, or better still input it at this address - https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence and that will give them everything they need.

Abbey - owed £3260 - Paid up.

Barclays owed £2500 - Paid up.

Halifax, Mint & Egg - next on the hit list

Dont click on the scales - I'm quite proud of my little red dot! - As the little red dot has gone - click away!!!!

He can get a code to share his driving licence information here. https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence

He'll need his driver number, national insurance number and postcode to log in. Once he's logged in, he needs to click on the button marked "share your licence information" and it will generate a code that is valid for 21 days. He needs to give that to the insurance company.

The insurance information that they need is probably proof of no claims. That information should be on his last renewal quote that he should have had through the post.

That's all pretty standard stuff these days I'm afraid.

Please note that my posts are my opinion only and should not be taken as any kind of legal advice.
In fact, they're probably just waffling and can be quite safely and completely ignored as you wish.

they cant 'fine' him anything..

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
