ToBeWan - I have personally dealt with these people - CWD specifically and I have paid significant amounts of money for top quality advice from Barristers in the UK. I am afraid that you are being somewhat misled in the advice you are getting on this thread.

It seems everyone has a view and everyone is an expert. I have negotiated 2 separate debt cases and I will be pleased to advise you on what to do.

I bet I know the name of this top quality barrister already...

wonder where all the money goes you've paid..urm..

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

honeybee13 - that is a shame.

Nobody on these threads ever gets back to tell people what their experience was.

People come on here because they are concerned and looking for the right course of action to take.

I cannot possible list down on here everything you should do in every circumstance.

If a member asks me a specific question on this thread I will answer it help them.

Reading some of the comments on here when I got my first letter from CWD very nearly got me in a right mess due to ill informed people posting nonsense about what CWD can and cannot do.

The ignorance of some comments is outstanding.

Jase

Why don't you set up a new thread with information, without naming any companies that deal with Dubai/UAE debts or any Lawyers names ?

Foreign debts can be enforced in UK courts, so people need to request all of the finance documents in English, so that advice may be obtained, if the creditor is looking to take it to court.
