Just received a letter saying I owe £70 for a parking charge notice from the 30/11/17.

It says if I pay within 14 days it will be reduced to £40.00.

I parked on an Aldi carpark for 1hour and 49minutes, (17:58-19:46) apparently I should of only parked there for 1hour and 30 mins.

The thing is I was with my family watching the towns fireworks for the light switch on and this is the best view while still being able to stay warm.

The 2 pictures on the letter are completely blacked out and just show my numberplate front and back

I have no idea how or where they were taken from as we were in the car the whole time. No ticket either.

Unless it’s at the entrance but I’ve never noticed any cameras before.

I’ve never received one before either so I’m just wondering if it’s legit and if I have to pay?. Thanks

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

reasons for being there or overstaying are irrelevant,

this is a contractual matter and the parking is just what creates that contract

so we argue about the correctness of this rather than give any weight to the whys and wherefores.

You dont have to explain yourself when you do get as far as corresponding with PE.

PE use cameras to photo your vehicle as it enters and leaves the car park.

Now,

as this supposed allowed stay is 1.5 hours

the first thing to do is see if there is anything about this limit in the planning consent for the building of the store.

many applications/consents say 2 or 3 hours customer parking and if that is the case then PE or Aldi cannot override this.

If you post up the location of the store we can have a look into this,

most newer developments can be found in an online planning portal

and that will save you from having to ring the council to get them to traipse down into the basement to look for the file.
