Hello,

I have received a PCN notice for stopping on a restricted bus stand;

I will admit I was there,

but for such a minimal amount of time,

and clearly dropping a passenger off

(shown in the photo on my PCN)

- do I have grounds to appeal for alighting?

The bus stand does have a sign saying 'buses do not pick up passengers from here'

and I did not inhibit any bus during the few seconds I was there.

Once I saw the sign I got out of there as soon as possible.

Any help appreciated.

Can someone also confirm if I do appeal, the reduced charge is held until it is resolved?

Thanks,

L

You've already said restricted bus stand so

Bus stop or stand

Contravention code 47 shall be used for any vehicle (other than a bus) seen to be parked on a restricted bus stop or bus stand. No observation period will be applied.

Vehicles are not prohibited from stopping at all bus stops. Where a restriction applies, the restricted area is marked out by dashed yellow or white lines containing the words 'Bus Stop'.

Most restricted bus stops are operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A time plate is only required if this is not the case and this time plate will clearly state the hours of operation.

•is loading/ unloading permitted? No

•are Blue Badge holders exempt? No

Hello,

Thanks for your help so far! It's a Penalty Charge Notice, referencing contravention 47, issued by Hounslow Council.

Would seeing the paperwork help?

thread retitled

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

the paint job will determine what sort of restriction applies as well as the signage.

For example you cant park in a bus stop but for a bus stand you arent even allowed to stop there.

Some that are bays adjoining a highway you can get done for just entering them without stopping.

If you fancy fighting it then you ask for a copy of the traffic order covering it and see if the correct lining has been applied.

It would be unusual to be wrong but not impossible as really big errors have been made in the past such as Croydon issuing thousands of fines for breaching the non-existent traffic orders covering the Tramlink
