I wouldn’t bother they told me I chose to have them extra covers so I don’t have a case. Even though I was told I had to have them to get the things I wanted now they are saying I chose to add them which wasn’t the case. But now it is my word vs theirs so I can’t win then can I

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Brighthouse got a mauling over this sort of thng

you start by telling them that you were told that you HAD to have these insurnaces etc and that you are now aware that this is misleading and unlawful to demand such things.

This is a breach of the CRA then you wish to reclaim that money and any interest applied as it is an unlawful condition of the contract and thus not binding.

They may well want to tell you otherwise but the bottom line is if you take them to court to recover the monies you will win that claim and they know it.

Most of their customers are amongst the most vulnerable people in the counrty so usually baulk at taking the necessary steps as they dont believe they has access to justice. Well, yes they do, there are hurdles but they are quite easy to jump if you know how.

A sensibly worded demand along with the calculations about how much you expect refunded is a start, that will cut their legs off anyway
