settled or PS will reset the SB clock and leave you open to the rest too under PS.it WILL NOT remove the default

the debt will vanish on the defaults 6th birthday

nothing you can do to better that outcome

paid or not.

whilst the default is there a mortgage is off the cards.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Does the FCA/ombudsman have the power to rule that the bank should not have waited six years, and therefore make them amend the account to show what it would of looked like if they had closed the account say 2 years after the last activity?

The credit file would then need to be amended to reflect the FCA's ruling, and the default would therefore fall off much earlier...

...probably have my head in the clouds hoping this is an option, but don't really want to be stuck in this situation because of an error 10 years ago.

I understand what you say though...I won't be going for settled or PS on the account as it stands. I'll guess I'll wait another two years if I can't get the default date moved

you could try the FOS

but you'd have to exhaust Lloyds complaint procedure first

that will take +2mts atleast
