I use an optical mouse, one has a usb end the other a normal end

uninstall the mouse and any mouse related software. is it a microsoft mouse, eg its intellimouse software?

switch off. put the usb mouse in another usb port. then restart. let it load the mouse. dont put in any other software.

see how that goes

 

did you try 'safe mode'.

do try and answer what tips that you have tried, as it will help the guys helping to know what you've tried.

no it is not a microsoft mouse, nor is the other mouse I have

The mouse I am using now is not the usb one, it has been behaving recently , did not as yet try safe mode been busty packing for my holiday tomorrow

why didn't you just say that in yr post #51, or before. elaborate a bit on things. cld've saved a couple of wasted posts there. help us to help you. :) am out.

you didn't though say you had reverted to a different mouse/input. and you said you will 'check' some settings

 

no, not 'glad to see the back'. don't take my post the wrong way :)

just that full info is needed, in anyones thread, so that the help can be focused. to help solve the probs.
