Hi, I am looking for some advice please.

I have been paying various DCA's via Moneyplus (Byrom and Keeley) prior to that for many years.

In fact probably over 10 years.

My credit file is perfect as all dropped off years ago.

The question is, reading these forums, am i in a position to request CCA's? from IDEM, 1st Credit, Wescott etc....

i cant even remember who most of these debts originally belonged to.

I think Intelligent Finance was one as was Lloyds TSB.

I have been paying very small amounts of the years and debt still totals over 30k.

I read about the term cash cow which I feel I maybe just one of them!!

Can someone please advise if I should be doing something?

Thank you

The silly thing with a DMP is that you pay small amounts over a very long period, but large debts are still hanging around not seeming to reduce. Moneyplus are no doubt happy, as the amount you are paying includes fees to them. It is not as if any of the debts are written off after a number of years.

So yes you must send a CCA request with the £1 fee to each of the current debt owners. See if they can provide them.

Have Moneyplus been sending you a regular statement showing the exact position of every debt ? If not, i would suggest you ask them for full details of each debt, with a statement for each showing the debt reducing, with no interest or charges being added.

Do you own your home or any property assets, which might be at risk if you stopped paying and any creditors obtained CCJ's, moving to bankruptcy, if necessary ? What is your current financial position like ?

We could do with some help from you.

ditch the DMP and get checking all your debts. How much is this DMP taking in fees.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

Yes worth sending CCA requests to current debt owners. If they don't have enforceable CCA's, then for accounts taken out pre April 2007, then it should stop them getting CCJ's if you defended any court claim, after stopping payments.

£150 a month = £1800 a year, so hardly an insignificant amount. And how much are the debts reducing ? You should ask them for statements on every debt they are dealing with.

Also a lot of dmp's dont actually pay yoru debts each month. THey ask to stop payments for a set time, and they stockpile an amount and try to offer a f&f which rarely happens. Meanwhile theyre collecting the fee's and pocketing money that could go to your debts.

And i sure hope you mean paying 150 total to your debts. Not just the dmp's fees

Wow I wasn't aware of that. I pay £150 and £20 is fees. I get a rolling statement online every month so I can see what I owe who at any time. The main Ones are with Cabot and PRA group. Never heard a peep from them!

if cabot own the debt, then its very very likely unenforceable and youre giving them money for nothing. Same with PRA.

List your debts please with as much info as possible. Lets ditch this DMP, and get these debts gone for you. For as little money as possible.

I wouldn't bother sending any CCA's or anything

we'll deal with each debt as it come through your door

even IF you do owe all the fleecers you are paying

a month or two being our of their cash cowing milking parlour wont hurt.

get an sar running to Byrom and Keeley

as 9/10 there some secret little full and final pot that they also kept even more of your money in

that gets magic'd away too.

sound like you've been paying for their holiday to the Bahama's for far too long to me..

just remember the botton line

A DCA IS NOT A BAILIFF

they have NO LEGAL POWERS WHATSOEVER

that YOU do not have yourself..

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
