Hi,

how many fines are there for being stopped in an untaxed vehicle ?

paid one this morning - a penalty for failure to tax £59.17 ,

went out and arrived home to find another one from dvla enforcement centre for £89.00

same offence really

as vehicle was brought home after being stopped and not used again,

do I have to pay this as well,

Hi,what background would you like about me or the vehicle, basically £19.47 was for the tax outstanding and the £40.00 was for failure to tax.The second one is from DVLA enforcement centre Scottish casework, and is for using the vehicle on one occasion untaxed.I have no idea how vehicle taxation works in the UK as havent lived here again until last year when I returned from abroad. It just seems to me that I am being punished twice for the same event.

the £89 is the DVLA Penalty for failure to Tax/SORN by due date.

probably. it was 80 but just went up re april.

is auto if no applicable sorn.

£40 + £19.47 sounds like the Late Licensing Penalty plus the outstanding duty - s.7A, Vehicles Excise & Registration Act 1994.

The second one would be for the offence of using an unlicensed vehicle - s.29 of the same act.
