Hi

I am just after a bit of advice.

I had a really bad three years and my debt spiralled.

Debts were sold off to various companies

and my credit file now lists companies such as Hoist Portfolio Holdings 2 Limited and Pra group.

I am now in a position to pay these debts but I have seen an lot of negativity around the companies that have bought the debt.

How do I go about ensuring that I am definitely paying the right companies? I want to get it done and out of the way so I can move on with my life but I don't want to fall victim to paying a company money they don't have a right to?

Thanks in advance.

they'll already be defaulted so you are screwed for 6yrs anyway.

gather the info 1st.

list you debts please

what the credit type was

when you took it out and with whom

how much is outstanding

defaulted date

who owns it now.

last payment date.

don't go rushing to do anything

a DCA is NOT A BAILIFF

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Unless the debts are with the original creditors, then I would strongly advise against paying them especially to a no powers tin pot DCA.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

Hi

Sorry for the delay in relying. I only get online sporadically these days.

From Noddle the info I have is below:

PRA Group. Balance £251 (opening balance is the same)

It says it is a credit card but I am unsure of the original card now.

Status only goes back to June 16, all default.

Hoist Portfolio Holding 2 Limited. Balance £4,852. Opening balance £3662.

I think this may have been a loan from Tesco.

Status goes back to March 16, all default.

Balance suddenly jumps by over £1000 from Sept to Oct 16.

Barclays. Balance £926. Opening balance £719.

This was a Barclays loan. Last payment I could make was Oct 13.

Lowell. Balance £201.

Not sure what this was for.

It says telecommunications provider.

Balance has been £201 since July 15 when it began, all default.

Hoist Portfolio Holding 2 Limited. Balance £3661.

Now it says this is a bank under account type but I have only held bank accounts at 2 banks in my life and they are both listed on Noddle

(old one which was over drawn and current which has no overdraft, for obvious reasons).

Status goes back to July 15, all in df and all the same figure.

T Mobile. £38.

Not worried about this.

It is for mobile broadband stick which I couldn't pay at the time.

Barclays Bank PLC. Balance £2243. Last payment Nov 13.

As mentioned above this is a bank account which was over drawn.

Quite embarrassing to admit all the above

but I was in trouble and did everything wrong

and hid from it instead of being up front and dealing with it.

Thanks. x

Can I also ask what a DCA is please?

PRA Group, what is the last correspondence you received from them, and try and find out who the card was with.

HPH2 send Tesco a SAR(£10) to get the details of this account. (Balance £4,852.)

Barclays Loan, again send a SAR to obtain all of the details regarding the account.

Lowell telecomms acct, ignore UNLESS Lowlifes are rattling your cage sending you begging letters?

HPH2 (Balance £3661.) Which bank? Is this one OR two accounts, current accts OR overdraft?

Tmobile, are they chasing? How is this sum made up?

Sharklays Bank (Balance £2243.) How much of this is their charges/fees? Have you ALL of the statements?

If you've not got all of the information you need to see how these figures have been made up then a SAR, with the ten pound stat fee enclosed, should be sent to the original creditor (OC).

If you're talking to a debt collector, (DCA), then STOP, get all of your ducks in order first.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!
