I took out a loan in 2012 with a company called MiniCredit, and could not make the repayment on time, this led to ridiculous charges being imposed, and fast forward nearly 4 years, I've obtained a copy of my credit report to see that a company called "Kapama Credit" issued a default in April 2015, which doesn't reflect the actual default date in 2012, and not to mention the balance that states £1049 (for an £80 loan).

Kapama Credit are not contactable, none of their email addresses work, this is my only default on my credit report, and I have been flawlessly managing several accounts for the last 3 years.

What can I do here? The account that is reported with the CRA (CallCredit) is not a true reflection of the circumstances, and the balance is also made up of 90% of unenforceable fees and charges.

Strangley enough, OPOS limited are contactable, and both companies (OPOS and Kapama) share the same directors, Kapama Credit pretty much trade as OPOS Limited from looking on their website, strange set up if you ask me.

I invited them to issue proceedings in 2012, but they wouldn't take the account near a court (I wonder why that could be).

have you filed a notice of correction with the CRA?

Also, minimuppets, kapama and opos are all the same company.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

I have challenged it with Noddle earlier today, so we'll see what happens, it's shocking to think how many others will have this lingering over them for longer than the 6 year period.

Surely they cannot misuse personal data like this, especially when they're reporting non factual information to the credit reference agencies?

I don't even know why I took out this loan with Minimuppets, it's good to see they got closed down, however it's disgraceful that they can merely trade on under OPOS and Kapama Credit.

Forget notice of corrections - useless

Write to kapama

Give then 14 days to correct the default date to that filed by the OC in 2012

Else you'll be off to the ICO and seek compensation

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Would Google Inc v Vidal-Hall be relevant to this? I have written to them, their email addresses don't work and the email I sent was returned.

I will definitely complain to the Information Commissioners Office, but it would be nice to take some form of legal action against them, as they have a duty to accurately record data, and this default would be doing all sorts of damage as it's only a year old when in reality it's 4 years old.

I'm interested to understand the relationship between Kapama opos and minicredit. While Kapama and opos are owned by Scott and Kylie Microcredit was owned by an Estonian and now in liquidation but only shareholder is Russian. Can't find the link myself

Any opinion I give is from personal experience .
