bog standard response once you sent Defense off - not an agreement do not look and see what is not there, await next court instructions == they indicate without you knowing no paperwork at this stage.

but remember for future reference CPR 31.14 request sign as you are in the court system!

Cal days

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Thank you all for your help in this matter.

I understand that I am not home free, yet but you folks have given more information than I could ever hope to find anywhere else!

I have a multitude of debt problems but it encourages me to deal with all of them since I know the CAG forum exists to guide people like me who are just starting out on handling debts. :-)

After reading through similar threads on here, I am beginning to worry that Restons will restart this just before it crosses the statute barred stage.

Is it worth speaking with them about making regular payments toward this?

I suspect they will file a claim just before in order restart activity on this debt, at worst, and of course to have judgement entered against me.

I've read at least two accounts of others on here who have pursued this to the end, only for the judge to decide in Reston's favour!:!:

(Didn't want to start a new thread for this since it's related to HSBC)

I would like to start an account with HSBC in order to avail of their savings offers. Is this a bad idea in light of the fact that I have a history of debt with them? The debts have been sold on to other companies, but can HSBC refuse to open an account for me because of my history with them?
