You may see the oil price as roughly 50$ on the next article with many links leading off.
As today we are looking at this.
$100 Oil Is Back On The Table
    https://oilprice.com/Energy/Oil-Pric...The-Table.html

The Secret of the Great American Fracking Bubble
As a whole, the American fracking experiment has been a financial disaster for many of its investors, who have been plagued by the industry's heavy borrowing, low returns, and bankruptcies, and the path to becoming profitable is lined with significant potential hurdles.
With the exception of airlines, Chinese state enterprises, and Silicon Valley unicorns — private firms valued at more than $1 billion — shale firms are on an unparalleled money-losing streak. About $11 billion was torched in the latest quarter, as capital expenditures exceeded cashflows.
The cash-burn rate may well rise again this year.

Some historic money-losing has been going on, and is expected to continue, as reported by the Wall Street Journal:
“Wood Mackenzie estimates that if oil prices hover around $50, shale companies won’t generate positive cash flow as a group until 2020.”
However, Craig McMahon, senior vice president at Wood MacKenzie, notes, “Even then, only the most efficient operators will do well.”

Then you read things like this.
Boom times for US shale oil producers
Industry emerges from downturn more productive and propels spectacular output growth
    https://www.ft.com/content/2c7f6a38-...a-43db76e69936

    Then this.
Fracking needs to stop to prevent Colorado earthquakes

Fracking – the reality, the risks and what the future holds
Fracking has been hailed as an energy miracle in the US, yet globally it faces blocks and even bans. Adam Vaughan explains what it is and why it is so controversial
    https://www.theguardian.com/news/201...e-future-holds

So what makes Oil prices rise i will ask Google.Just asking, many must wonder.
MARKET WATCH: Crude prices rise on world political tensions
    https://www.ogj.com/articles/2018/04...-tensions.html

So then you wonder what price oil makes shale production worthwhile.Maybe i am getting above my knowlege base so will move on rapidly.
Last thought, best to let them out whether right or wrong.
We can tell perhaps the Frackers are desperate for results and one well does not work they need hundreds of them.
    Throughout England.
If this happens a few wells get going you would think the Frackers maybe thinking the Protectors will be stretched and oposition will melt away.
But would it or would it rise.7 million police costs at one site alone, and i see other communities forming groups to oppose and growing.
So the pressure must be on the powerful ones to let the Frackers roam free in England, accept that risk and expense.
The money they have to burn and powerful lawyers maybe putting off councils who are short of cash and have far better ways to spend money challenging to hard the Frackers mission to Frack this green and pleasant land.
Meanwhile the investors keep throwing money down the well.
What are they thinking as they see this opposition.I do not know but will try to find out.But i would be keeping my money under my floorboards for sure.
But some like the risk and future possibilities i suppose.Hoping for big bucks.
So where do we go from here.
    Will things end like this.
The Shale Revolution has a big problem. It is heavily dependent on institutional investors and lenders, and they are starting to lose interest in the business.
Investment in shale has benefited from a Silicon Valley-like syndrome of focusing more on growth than profitability.
But in the past similar strategies of growth-at-all-costs have led to busts. In a boom/bust industry like oil, businesses fall hard.
When investors give up waiting for profits, they flee in unison, and when that happens, the Shale Revolution will end.

Updates: Day 6 Cuadrilla Roseacre Wood fracking inquiry
    Key points from today’s hearing
Evidence from Roseacre Awareness Group highways expert
The absence of personal accidents does not mean a route is safe or suitable
Proposed traffic routes are ” inherently not safe and suitable”
Proposed passing places and traffic signals will make things worse for pedestrians and cyclists
No guarantee that Cuadrilla will use all three traffic routes
Good driver behaviour or education can’t be relied on

Protesters walked slowly in front of lorries, impe ding them from leaving the depot at Peterseat Drive in Altens.

On the video at the bottom of the last post at 12-55 to the end of the video you will find a well written message to the companies in Scotland supplying the Fracking Sites in England.
If i find a photo of the message i will post it at a later date. But worth a listen to.
Back tomorrow all being well and as i like to post news before 6 am usually a little earlier if possible.
Finish with some footage from the Cuadrilla Fracking Site this morning
    https://www.facebook.com/tinalouiseu...type=2&theater

And remember this company Cuadrilla caused tremors in Lancashire over 40 two felt at the surface. This is why Fracking was stopped in 2011.
Bye for now unless something drastic pops up in the meantime as it sometimes does.

CUADRILLA BOWLAND LTD AND CUADRILLA ELSWICK LTD PUBLIC INQUIRY – 2018
    http://programmeofficers.co.uk/cuadrilla2/

I wonder if there is a live webcast, not up to date with this, you can probably tell.

Cuadrilla Elswick Ltd ("Cuadrilla") proposed at the Pre Inquiry Meeting on 31st
October 2017 that the public inquiry scheduled to be held by The Planning
Inspectorate (“PINS”) commencing on 10th April 2018 in relation to the planning
appeal for proposed shale gas exploration works at Roseacre Wood (the "Inquiry")
should be the subject of live web transmission ("webcast") and recorded for
subsequent transmission in order to enable members of the public to observe the
Inquiry. PINS has agreed that this could take place, so long as it does not disrupt
proceedings or inhibit those giving evidence in any way.

Best way i have seen it summed up.
The proposals owe more to “Alice in Wonderland than fracking in farmland”,

    First of all.
    Human rights
Article 11 Right to protest and freedom of association
    Freedom of assembly
Article 11 is closely linked to freedom of expression as it applies to protests, marches and demonstrations, counter-demonstrations, press conferences, public and private meetings and more – but it does not protect intentionally violent protest.

People turn to Article 11 when public authorities stop a demonstration going ahead, take steps in advance to disrupt a demonstration or store personal information on those taking part.

The State can’t interfere with your right to protest just because it disagrees with protesters’ views, because it’s likely to be inconvenient and cause a nuisance or because there might be tension and heated exchange between opposing groups.

Instead it must take reasonable steps to enable you to protest and to protect participants in peaceful demonstrations from disruption by others.

Monday and Tuesday were off the scale regarding rights to protest and for the last two days the bellmouth has been more or less off limits for any form of protest,

“Shale Gas: The Technological Gamble That Should Not Have Been Taken”
World May Hit 2 Degrees of Warming in 10-15 Years Thanks to Fracking, Says Cornell Scientist

In 2011, a Cornell University research team first made the groundbreaking discovery that leaking methane from the shale gas fracking boom could make burning fracked gas worse for the climate than coal.

In a sobering lecture released this month, a member of that team, Dr. Anthony Ingraffea, Professor of Engineering Emeritus at Cornell University, outlined more precisely the role U.S. fracking is playing in changing the world's climate.

The most recent climate data suggests that the world is on track to cross the two degrees of warming threshold set in the Paris accord in just 10 to 15 years, says Ingraffea in a 13-minute lecture titled “Shale Gas: The Technological Gamble That Should Not Have Been Taken,” which was posted online on April 4.
That's if American energy policy follows the track predicted by the U.S. Energy Information Administration, which expects
1 million natural gas wells will be producing gas in the U.S. in 2050, up from roughly 100,000 today.

China Invests in Environment – but at What Cost?
Meanwhile, the United States – though not to the same degree as China – has had to deal with water distribution and pollution issues of its own increasingly so in the past decade, from the West's recurring issues with water shortages and droughts to the Flint water crisis.
Yet the Trump administration has moved to change previous Obama-era actions that will strip environmental protections in an effort to be less burdensome on local industries and promote gross domestic product growth. Further, it has in the past year dropped climate change from its list of national security threats, pulled the U.S. from the global Paris climate agreement and modified federal websites that discuss or mention climate change.

Lets get nosey, root around a little.
Try to find a few answers
A while ago the technical director of Cuadrilla was asked where the chemicals that are pumped down there into the earth during Fracking end up.
He did not know or seemed to care.Does anyone.
So off to America for a moment
    bit dated
i cannot find up-to date info.

    Fracking by the Numbers
Key Impacts of Dirty Drilling at the State and National Level
    Released by: Environment America
Release date: Thursday, October 3, 2013
Toxic Wastewater Produced in 2012 (billion gallons) 280
Water Used since 2005 (billion gallons) 250
Chemicals Used since 2005 (billion gallons) 2
Air Pollution in One Year (tons) 450,000
Global Warming Pollution since 2005 (million metric tons CO2-equivalent) 100
Land Directly Damaged since 2005 (acres) 360,000

Toxic wastewater: Fracking produces enormous volumes of toxic wastewater—often containing cancer-causing and even radioactive material. Once brought to the surface, this toxic waste poses hazards for drinking water, air quality and public safety:

    • Fracking wells nationwide produced an estimated 280 billion gallons of wastewater in 2012.

Water such a waste of a precious resource.
    But how much- dated.
Water Used since 2005 (billion gallons) 250.
Just trying to get down to some frightening figures.
Water Use Skyrockets as Fracking Expands. Oil and natural gas fracking, on average, uses more than 28 times the water it did 15 years ago, gulping up to 9.6 million gallons of water per well and putting farming and drinking sources at risk in arid states, especially during drought.

And supplies the Blackpool area a major tourist attraction. And strangely has had a few problems.Close by.
Or is water trucked in and from where.
Not knowledgable enough, moving on,will come back to this. When i find out.

Well things are getting heated in Nottinghamshire.
These companies that are supplying Fracking Sites must expect peaceful protest.

Well a day of ups and downs today.Usually i would put this post on tomorrow morning but have to go out early.I may get time to post early though before going.

Saddens you when peaceful protectors are subject to people who have lost the plot as on some of the videos seen today.
Peaceful protest can be disruptive to the companies supplying the Fracking Sites.
But gives no excuse to some people to start tossing people about. It will not work things may escalate when Protectors are verbally and physically attacked.

But the protests moved to a Concrete Supplier to the Fracking Sites who later gave this statement and pulled out of Supplying the Fracking Sites.
I am sure at the beginning of the video is a chap who refused when he was a lorry driver to deliver pipes to a Fracking Site in Yorkshire.
He stopped when he realised where the delivery was going to and then became a Protector himself.
The video showing the owner of the Concrete Company pulling out.

I do not know but having lived here most of my life in Lancashire the people are strong when roused.
Can be a tough place to live at times.
Are we about to see the Locals Rising up against the Fracking industry.
I mean many, many more beginning to realise what is going down.
    Give the protectors a boost.
Maybe something is going to blow in as the summer wind blows in from the sea.We shall see.
But if it starts i will be there observing of course, what else could you do.

Just for a moment a story from America.
Perched on a platform high in a tree, a 61-year-old woman fights a gas pipeline.
ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. — When the trees started coming down, Theresa “Red” Terry went up.

Now, the 61-year-old mother of three is perched on a platform 32 feet in the air between two oak trees,
trying to stop a natural gas pipeline from coming through land granted to her husband’s family by the king of England in Colonial times.

The largest climate rally New York State Capitol has ever seen. Thousands of New Yorkers are in Albany calling on Governor Cuomo to show real climate leadership.
    Their demands:

    • Make corporate polluters pay
