I suppose people are wondering why the first Protector came down.

Well can you imagine facing your worst fear and battling to overcome it.

Statement.

"I got to the top and realised I was petrified of heights"

Well anyone who has climbed a small ladder and suddenly realised being a couple of feet off the ground sends you dizzy will realise what this protector went through.

Imagine climbing that high.

I used to work on roofs, chimneys places like that and one day all of a sudden while up there one day my bottle went.

I was stuck to the slates like a limpet. As you can tell i got down.Age thing i think.

I liked the views though and miss it all the same.

Back to Kirby Misperton, the Fracking Rig.

Still waiting for the latest news.I will check in again about 10.

But check the facebook link where the video is.News will arrive possibly before then.

Bye for now, short rest then update.

Just while i catch up with the latest news.Article from the Canary.

Theresa May’s government backtracked twice last week on fracking. Not that you’d have noticed.

This is getting ridiculous. All the so-called arguments for fracking are toppling like dominoes. The evidence is stacked so high against the industry, only their corporate muscle keeps fracking on the agenda. This Tory government is backing fracking and forging on with a ludicrous dirty energy policy. It is time for them to wake up and listen to their own reports, the voice of the public in areas under threat and halt all fracking activity now.

I just knew Drill Or Drop would be busy this morning with Quill and Ink.

Drill or Drop is brilliant at writing news fast.Always looking for their latest article.

I have a lot of respect for Ruth Hayhurst who writes the articles.

Campaigners brought down from rig platform at Third Energy’s Kirby Misperton fracking site

Two campaigners who spent about 30 hours on the rig platform at Third Energy’s fracking site at Kirby Misperton have been brought down by a specialist climbing team.

A third campaigner came down at 3.45pm yesterday. He was arrested and charged with aggravated trespass and criminal damage. (More details in DrillOrDrop report)

Police and an ambulance are on the ground at the site.

Back to the cowboys clip clopping desperate outfits trying to Frack this green and pleasant country.

And their flip flopping powerful friends.

Lancashire-Cuadrilla Fracking news.Well it is hard to find much news from them.Even the shareholders in A J Lucas Group Limited one of their backers keep in touch with Rusty The Rig and Protectors to see what is happening.

And do not forget you can Unfrack me.

Do you know who is backing the Frackers it may send you crackers.

Do you pay bills to any of these guys?

Cuadrilla Fracking Fools breached their environmental permit. Again. Thanks Claire.

"The EA’s inspection report notes that Cuadrilla was using standard metal skips to store the ‘spoilt’ drilling waste. These, it found, were not ‘hydro tested for leaks’ or ‘appropriately certified for integrity’ as required under the agreed waste management plan, which classifies ‘spoiled’ drilling waste as hazardous."

Heard a interesting story about a company who employ drivers to take goods to these Fracking Sites. Many who do not even know they are delivering to a Fracking Site till they get there.

You greedy xxxxxxx if only the drivers knew how much you cream off.

Everybody is having a jolly old time.Except the public who have to put up with this nightmare.

Not yet,got to get facts correct first.

Well what will happen in Yorkshire this week.

Al eyes will be on Kirby Misperton Yorkshire as the company Third Energy prepare to frack

On the other side Protectors who say they will put their lives at risk to prevent this.

A very powerful statement.

Some may think we have seen Predators arrive before from many lands to target this country and people with donations, pressure, spin and half truths then take the money and run.Usually with a posse chasing them down to return ill gotten gains.

But this time it is the future and health of this generation and future generations and environmental risk to water, land, rivers, ditches and dykes associated with Fracking this small Island.

Never mind the Tremors that stopped it before in 2011.And so many more other risks associated.

Already before Fracking begins we have seen breaches committed by these companies s shown on the above posts.

And many more companies waiting in the wings, drooling at the prospect of tearing up the English Countryside.

Other countries are telling them to Frack Off not Frack On so they bear down with all the pressure they can muster.

They are desperate outfits and just as seen before we see them try to smooth their way through communities with money, visits to schools,A new roof on a village hall perhaps. And slick PR campaigns.

All been done before and some of us know having seen it.

Trouble is once one gets seen off before long the next predators arrive.

Of course there is money to be made.If you are for Fracking.

I have heard how much some are making already from supplying these companies in every way possible.

It is a money merry go round.

Investors have invested millions and will not want to lose that kind of money.

Can you imagine what they will say to their powerful connections if this happens which it could.

Also the pressure being applied.

Not many jobs though compared to renewables though.Another myth.

Oh well many must be worried what is going to happen,i am for sure.

We have seen the Police being used to facilitate these companies,it is their job to do as ordered.

I asked and have seen the look on the polices faces, what can they do,do it or else.

Of course there are always in every force those that may lose it at times of pressure. As we have seen.

But you can also see in some officers eyes they hate this Fracking as much as the Protectors.

They are standing outside the gates of hell that leads to the well sucking in all the dust, the possibilities that will travel through the air as time goes on.A Fracking nightmare. Why should they be made to do this.

Who next as this possibly spreads, the army.

The Govt are hell bent on forcing this through.Which leads onto a well written post from Tina Rothery i have just spotted.

Makes sense to me.

WE DON’T NEED FRACKING confirmed by government in 'The Gas Security Supply Strategic Assessment'' commissioned by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, IT DID NOT not include any contribution from shale gas in its predictions about future UK gas supply:

They’re not fracking yet, their standards sink ever lower along with their soggy pads, even the Times had to bump into the truths too obvious to ignore and with independent journalists and investigators with integrity working behind the scenes – the dirty laundry of this dirty industry is laid out for all to see.

It will be interesting how fracking develops. There has been difference of opinion about just how much shale gas there is that can be extracted. It might not be as much as some experts have said. Some of these experts have a vested interest, as they get paid large fees for their work. No doubt they have excuses lined up, when their analysis proves wrong.

I would have thought by now, that science would have developed so it was unnecessary to drill into the earth looking for energy in this way. Those investing in fracking will be b*ggered if they start making cheap energy in a lab.

We could do with some help from you.

Greeting unclebulgaria67.

Always interesting when someone pops in and says what they think.

I have developed a phobia i think since someone asked me what it is like talking to a empty room.

Does it echo in there where you are tapping away talking to no one.

No one is listening or reading one word you write.

Whether for or against anyone who posts here makes my day if not the month.

So i celebrate a touch when someone writes something.

The engineers have scaled the satellites and the mast and i think the problem is over for now.

Now being in the Desolate North where the main experiments are being held i have had a little difficulty with the tinternet thingy.

And my cave that i live in,yes some are surprised in high places that some of us in the North have moved into homes and do not all ride horses as in days gone by.

I chuckled once when meeting a solicitor down South.I asked him have you been up North. He said of course i have,Cardiff.

Anyway i am just checking on what has happened since Monday and will be scribing away with the quill shortly to bring things up to date.If i can find the ink.

I dread to think of what has happened since Monday.Until then, check this out.

Let us not forget the big picture here. There is no need for protest in Scotland, there is no need for protest in Ireland and, fingers crossed, there will be no need for protest in Wales. Alas, there is still the need to protest in England. We must focus on both ends of the spectrum. Here's an insight into the Westminster conversation. We have a lot of work to do. Click the link to follow the debate in the Lords recently. Some really do not have a clue...

So i celebrate a touch when someone writes something.

ah, where was the 'celebration' when i popped in and posted in cf. about scotland and the hypocrisy. importing fracked, but not wanting fracking.

a bit analogous to the on site tea lady/protestor there maybe using that fracked gas in their gas cylinder, wouldn't that be ironic.

or when they get home and switch on the gas heating/oven which may be using fracked gas. or for eg down the restaurant for a meal, maybe prepared using fracked gas.

don't misunderstand. am pretty much not for fracking globally. it seems just a money making exercise and unessential (there is no energy supply shortage). but, being pedantic, it seems odd someone protesting against domestic fracking if ones 'comforts' are frack supplied (even indirectly), from the USA (that'll be ok :) ) or at the expense of rainforested countries as was posted before.

:)

a fair question then; do gas energy suppliers stipulate where their gas comes from.

i recall on one of those sites in comparison it sometimes gives a breakdown of sorts of their energy supply?

Hi Ford.

I read your posts and understand the not in my back yard thoughts.

And yes i believe there is enough gas in Europe to supply Britain if the will is there to crack on massively with renewables as many other countries are. While the transition takes place without Fracking England.

Without putting many at risk.

And the thought of Fracked gas coming from the rainforests and other places planned fill many with dread.

Is it possible to stop this i do not know.So much power.

Those are my thoughts but everyone has a view i understand that.

Why today in Scotland the Fracking bosses went cap in hand to ministers to think again.

Of course jobs are at risk at the plant but just maybe renewables and the technology will replace them fast.I hope so.

I will try to find the link,i read it earlier somewhere.

Then you read interesting articles like this which are appearing all over the world.

I am just putting this down before i lose it.Getting a bit tired but will if not now have a closer look tomorrow at Scotland and

Look at the question as i do not know.

a fair question then; do gas energy suppliers stipulate where their gas comes from.

Lancashire refuses to extend planning permission at Cuadrilla shale gas site again

Councillors in Lancashire have turned down the latest of multiple applications from Cuadrilla for more time to restore a shale gas site near the Ribble Estuary.

The county council’s development control committee voted instead this morning for enforcement action against the company for not returning the Becconsall site to farmland by the agreed time.

The deadline for restoring the site, which is in the Green Belt and next to an internationally-important wildfowl reserve, had previously been reset by the council four times.

Councillors said the decision, which went against the advice of planning officers, was to prevent further harm to agriculture and anxiety to local people.

Members of a local campaign group applauded when the vote was taken.

On 12 September 2017, at the first hearing in this case that was not held behind closed doors, I and another Defendant, Joe Corré, successfully rebutted an attempt by INEOS to make permanent their temporary injunction, which severely curtails the right to protest against their fracking activities.

A further hearing has been scheduled, to start on the 30 or 31 October 2017. It will last three days.

This is the scene at both ends of Habton Road, Kirby Misperton, this morning.

A total of four people are locked together in concrete and metal devices, at the north and south ends of Habton Road. They lay down in the road at about 8.30am this morning.

Fracking risks undermining UK climate commitments, leading environmental groups tell minister.

As Third Energy prepares to frack the first UK onshore well since 2011, nine environmental organisations have told the government they have “growing concerns” about the process.

The groups, including Campaign to Protect Rural England, the Campaign for National Parks, Wildfowl and Wetland Trust and WWF, wrote to the Business Secretary, Greg Clark, saying fracking threatened UK commitments to tackle climate change.

Mr Clark is expected to give the final go-ahead imminently for fracking at Third Energy’s well at Kirby Misperton in North Yorkshire.

*KMPC PRESS RELEASE*

The Two Towers blockade at North Yorkshire fracking site

Protectors have once again prevented access to the KM8 fracking site

In the early hours of this morning Two Towers were deployed on the road either side of the KM8 gates.

It is believed that Third Energy were hoping to have removed the workover rig at the end of last week, in order to make space for the fracking equipment. As the peaceful resistance continues, the rig is still on site.

Jag, the occupant of one of the towers says: "It's a sad indictment of the world today that we have to go to these lengths to prevent the government from pushing fracking upon us. There's no public support for fracking, the evidence of its toxicity and harm is clear."

After erecting the towers, the Protectors facilitated the safe passage of local traffic before the police closed the road. Yet again, KMPC have tried to accommodate the nearby dairy farm by allowing room for the milk tanker to pass, however even after the driver himself spoke to the police, they refused to allow him through.

The UK’s biggest shale company has collected hundreds of Facebook posts and tweets, running to more than 1,300 pages, in support of its injunction against anti-fracking protests.

INEOS Shale gave details of some of the posts and messages at a hearing at the High Court today. It was seeking to continue the injunction first granted at a private hearing in July.

The hearing, which is expected to last three days, follows a challenge by two anti-fracking campaigners: Joe Corre, son of the fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, and Joe Boyd.

Their lawyers argue that the injunctions should never have been granted and should now be discharged or not renewed. They will say the injunction is an unlawful interference with the rights to freedom of expression and assembly under the Human Rights Act.

Tomorrow the court will hear from lawyers for Joe Boyd and Joe Corre. They will argue that the injunction is:

Not prescribed by law or necessary in a democratic society

Conduct is prohibited already under criminal law

Need has not been convincingly established by evidence

Injunctions have to date failed to prevent any alleged criminality.

The case is expected to continue until Thursday.

Day 2 High Court.
Drill Or Drop Report.

INEOS protest injunction having a “chilling effect” on fracking debate, court told.

Opponents of fracking are becoming over-cautious to avoid breaching an injunction granted to theUK’s biggest shale gas company, the High Court heard today.

One person said in a statement:

“We all felt like we could not even go and talk to people from INEOS in case we were accused of intimidating the staff”.

Another said:

“We cannot hope to protect ourselves against the risks from the injunction. …

This is likely to lead me to erring on the side of extreme caution.”

INEOS Shale is seeking to renew the injunction,

which stops anti-fracking protests from interrupting its operations and supply chain.

People who breach the order could have their assets seized or go to prison.

Two campaigners, Joe Boyd and Joe Corre, are challenging the injunction, arguing that it breaches human rights,

is unnecessary and based on “flimsy evidence”.

“Third Energy failed to carry out proper monitoring at Yorkshire fracking site” – new report

The report by an independent hydrologist reviewed Third Energy’s groundwater monitoring data for the Kirby Misperton. It said:

Third Energy has not carried out groundwater tests correctly for a full 12-month period as required by law

Only three out of 24 monitoring rounds fully met the requirements of the company’s environmental permit

There were high levels of methane in a nearby aquifer

The data did not explain whether these high levels were linked to Third Energy’s use of a nearby well for waste water disposal

INEOS plans for a shale gas well at Harthill in South Yorkshire would put pedestrians,

Yesterday The Ladies Call for calm weekly march to the Cuadrilla Fracking Site took place.

It seems to be geting bigger each week. Many joined in across the UK, and further afield in spirit.

Ladies march to the Fracking Site a 15 minute silence takes place facing the site and the police, singing, dancing and speeches usually follow.

Ladies,Mothers,Grandmothers march sad that local democracy has been smashed to pieces and that people have been smashed to the ground defending their rights.

So calming is needed and on a Wednesday is asked for in a special way.

And a few events taking place in the coming days in Lancashire grabbed from Tina Rothery, not or the first time.

Kirby Misperton Protection Camp Lockdown Prevents Access to Frack Well

A spokesperson for KMPC said:

“It is an outrage that Third Energy are attempting to force their operation on our community, in the face of so much opposition. Shame on Westminster and the North Yorkshire Police for betraying the people of Ryedale and failing to protect us from this unwelcome and dangerous industry.”

What am i thinking at this moment, many things really.

Vertical Drilling is bad enough but when Horizontal Drilling is taking place i get little worried.

Is Horizontal Drilling happening as i write under Blackpool and the surrounding areas.

Like a octopus with tentacles reaching in all directions.

If Fracking gets going after drilling, Chemicals under pressure opening up the fissures possibly resulting in tremors.

And what chemicals, some things can really open the fissures up.

If a tremor happens,check your houses for any damage.Small damage,mortar between bricks,anything.

Reminds me once i went for a tunnelling job way back South Shore area near the Pleasure Beach.Heard it was good money.

6 Days a week 12 hour shifts, graft 700 a week way back.Met the foreman,a special breed these tunnelers been all over the world.

Down i went into hell till finally i arrived at the face.Dripping water, railway tracks to move the carriages when full with the dirt and a crane to lift the carriage when full.Down there with a pneumatic drill a small one chipping away at the, wait for it ,Rock are you thinking,no Peat over twenty feet or more down.

So i am thinking shake this up no matter how small the tremor might be and small damage will be done and you may not notice it.Of course if this was to happen. And did happen back in 2011.

Just a few thoughts early in the morning.

Take care protectors out there facing the powerful corporations their connections in paces high up and money to burn.

Not much to face really. No problem, look for their weaknesses they have them they are there and work on them.

And sooner or later they will come crashing down.I hope.

Small narrow lanes and the countryside and living so close together and the risks make it all worthwhile.

England surely is no place for Fracking.

I am off now.See you soon .

Judge defers decision on INEOS fracking injunction

A High Court judge hearing the challenge to INEOS’s injunction against anti-fracking protests has reserved his judgement.

Mr Justice Morgan said this evening:

“I’m not going to give a decision. I think the amount of material I have to digest and weigh up and consider means it is not fair to give a decision tonight. I will try to give a decision as soon as possible.”

He gave no indication of timing but said the interim injunction would remain in place until the decision.

The three-day hearing has heard argument from INEOS and lawyers for two challengers: campaigners Joe Boyd and Joe Corre, son of fashion designer,Vivienne Westwood.

The evidence and statements filled 32 ring binders and the legal teams topped 25.

Opposition to fracking at record high and support at lowest level ever – latest government survey

The latest findings from the government survey of attitudes to fracking in the UK shows dwindling support for the second quarter running.

The results, published this morning, has support (rounded figure) at 13%, the lowest level since the question was first asked. This is more than 3 points down on the previous low of 16% in the survey carried out in the summer of this year.

Ten Greenpeace volunteers acquitted at anti-fracking protest trial

By Ruth Hayhurst-Drill Or Drop.

Ten anti-fracking campaigners who locked themselves together in a protest outside Cuadrilla’s shale gas site have been found not guilty after a trial in Blackpool.

The five women and five men, who included a retired midwife and solicitor, trainee yoga teacher, business analyst and manager of a supported housing unit, were cleared this morning of obstructing the highway.

They had locked themselves together in pairs through yellow-painted boxes outside the site on Preston New Road on 3 May 2017.

Many of us have possibly seen police visibly moved at Fracking Sites.

Although some have lost it at times many hate this Fracking idea as much as Protectors.

You can see it on some of their faces but they do not say much.

“Robust regulation not materialising”, say residents as Cuadrilla asked again to improve water management at Lancashire fracking site

Campaigners against Cuadrilla’s shale gas operations near Blackpool have accused regulators of “repeatedly failing” to take action against company breaches.

Drone pictures from the past fortnight have shown a reoccurrence of flooding problems at the site off Preston New Road, Little Plumpton.

The problem has contributed to four breaches of the company’s environmental permit when water containing silt escaped from the pad.

Campaigners have raised concerns that contamination from the pad has spread to neighbouring fields.

A few things that caught my eye this week at The Frontlines Of The Fight Against Fracking.

Released to several agencies and MP's on the 23rd of October, this report was sent inn a pptdx file that the EA is unable to open. As this is a reliable way to get the information to them, as the link is public, here it is. I feel they need to talk to the IT department and sort that out.

I think someone needs to shut Cuadrilla down pending an investigation.

These shots are over a month or so to show the story in full.

A little of the Fracking news over the last week.

North Yorks council meeting shelved after protest over fracking question

A North Yorkshire County Council meeting was suspended this morning when opponents of fracking demanded action to address concerns about imminent operations at a site near their homes.

One of the women, Sue, told the committee:

“We are not troublemakers. We are here because we are desperate. We are not going to leave until we get answers,

because you refuse to give us our answers and we have a right to be answered on these questions.”

The women held placards about issues they think the council should raise with Third Energy. The captions included:

Recent H2S release investigation = Tardy,

Wildlife Assessment = shoddy and worthless,

Evacuation Plan…???.

Many people seem increasingly concerned about water issues around the Cuadrilla Site
Just a few of the concerns.

And it seems like they find it very difficult to get answers.

Please, we need as many people to contact EA and HSE with this as are willing. Please send me your log numbers!

Environment Agency

This field drain was reported to you 10/10/17 - 1560189 and has been an ongoing issue ever since.

It seems to have become more concerntrated recently.

Please can you help find out what is causing this? I am concerned for wildlife in the area!

It seems to start somewhere up near the power substation on Peel Road!

United Utilities, really concerned we are!

This inspection cover to the mains water from the resivoir to the people of Blackpool, Lythym, St. Annes, ect, has been leeking water and has a shiny irridescent emission from the cover. It is red and purple as well, and wet.

The irridesence is then seen to run downhill into a pond. This pond has turned from algae covered to red in the space of a few weeks, and looks nasty.

I really think someone needs to go and find out what is causing this, and if it poses a threat to people's drinking water! Why has this not been made a priority? Please can you update me on the status of this call?

Months this has taken!

Do something you must!

Cuadrilla fracking protest trial – 12 guilty of obstruction but cleared on trades union charges

12 people, including three councillors, have been found guilty of obstructing the highway after a lock-on protest outside Cuadrilla’s shale gas site in July. But they were cleared of trades union charges which can carry a more serious penalty.

INEOS fracking injunction continues.

A judge has ruled that an injunction obtained against anti-fracking protesters by INEOS Shale should continue

Earlier this month, INEOS – the UK’s largest holder of shale gas exploration licences – asked the High Court to extend the order.

Challenger Joe Corre Comments.

“INEOS wanted to criminalise legitimate protest including imprisonment and unlimited financial penalties for anyone who made negative comments about them or their supply chain on social media or any other form of communication.

That has completely gone, and rightly so.

“However, this company, INEOS, which means against them in Latin, is still trying to buy the law and take away your right to protest,”

He said:

“The first time, INEOS lost about 10% of what they asked for in their initial 2,000-page injunction. This time around, a much larger chunk has been chopped away.

“In this latest judgement, INEOS have lost any mention of harassment.

The judge has removed it from the injunction completely.

Because telling someone who is trying to destroy your environment that you don’t like it is not harassment,”

Joe Corré talking about today's judgement. The injunction has NOT been made permanent. This is no longer the widest injunction that INEOS boasted of. The harassment clause about posting things on social media or any other communication, has gone.

"Essentially, what we won today, is that they have removed entirely, the harassment clause.

Video

"It's never been harassment because what I think has been recognised by the court, is that is INEOS or a fracking company wants to come and destroy your environment, you're not harassing them by telling them, in whatever terms you think necessary, that you don't like it. That's not harassment."

"We cut off one off one of their legs and we'll go back in a couple of weeks' time to apply for an appeal to cut off some of their arms. We'll keep going until they're a quivering blob on the floor."

It's not over!

Tom Pickering, Operations Director of INEOS Shale Comment.

“Our people have the right to go to work free from fear of violence and unlawful interference.

These injunctions simply protect INEOS and our people from hardcore activists who game the system and treat the law with contempt. Crucially they also protect the rights of people to lawfully, peacefully protest.”

Mr Pickering said INEOS staff had faced threats by email and social media, including:

“I will go and blow them up – just you watch”. “Kick the hell out of the driver and force chemicals down his throat.” “This is war so expect casualties.” “Kill their children”. “Can’t somebody kill the owner of INEOS?” He said:

“These threats are vile, abusive and frightening. They demonstrate the sort of people we are facing.”

Lets take a look at what has been happening this week around and about.

Shale gas will bring wholesale industrialisation and change the countryside for decades, Tory MP tells debate

The Conservative MP for INEOS’s first proposed shale gas site has told the government

“we do not want the kind of industrialisation this would bring”.

“This is a wholesale industrialisation of the Derbyshire countryside which has never, at least on public record, seen the kind of changes which are proposed here”.

He said he wanted to place on record his “complete and absolute opposition” to exploratory drilling that could lead to fracking in his constituency and at Marsh Lane.

“Residents in tears about shale gas plans”

He said:

“When I speak with residents I often find them in tears about this.”

Quaker Meeting for Witness to be held at the gates of Cuadrilla's fracking site as part of the 'No faith in fracking' day of action.

"We have faith that we can tackle climate change and build a more sustainable future,

but we know this is only possible if fossil fuels remain underground."

Under the 2015 UN Paris climate agreement, the UK committed to cut greenhouse gas emissions in line with a 2°C temperature rise above pre-industrial levels, and to attempt to limit this to 1.5°C.

According to climate scientists, to achieve this target, we must keep approximately 80 per cent of known fossil fuel reserves in the ground.

Quakers in Britain call for a ban on all intensive forms of fossil fuel extraction, including fracking,

because extracting and burning these fuels is harmful to people and our planet.

Some of the latest Fracking news form the Frontlines of Fracking In Great Britain

Reaction to legal loophole and Third Energy’s fracking plans

Anti-fracking campaigners in North Yorkshire have vowed to continue to resist plans to frack at Kirby Misperton, despite what looks like a delay following the discovery of a legal loophole.

Yesterday, DrillOrDrop reported on a written ministerial statement revising the law on fracking consent.

Under the Infrastructure Act, companies are required to get final consent from the Secretary of State for Energy before starting to frack. But it has emerged that the act covered only wells drilled from April 2016.

Third Energy’s application, currently with the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), is to frack the KM8 well at Kirby Misperton, drilled in 2013.

Technically, the company did not need ministerial consent.

Campaigners occupy “Gatwick Gusher” oil site at Horse Hill

At about 4.30 this morning, campaigners said they occupied the so-called “Gatwick Gusher” oil site at Horse Hill in Surrey.

They said they wanted to raise awareness about climate change, air and water pollution and the industrialisation of the countryside.

The site, near Gatwick Airport, made national news in 2015 when one of the main investors, UK Oil and Gas, described the oil find as a “world class resource” that was as “good as the North Sea”

But during flow testing, there were daily protests and some residents reported health problems and traffic disruption.

https://drillordrop.com/2017/11/30/breaking-campaigners-occupy-gatwick-gusher-oil-site-at-horse-hill/

Revealed: INEOS secret court evidence on hazards of shale site materials

The shale gas company, INEOS, has said some products which may be used at a proposed exploration site could cause cancer or birth defects if “permitted to escape”.

They could also lead to mutations and were toxic to plants and animals.

Other items were corrosive, flammable or could cause serious damage to eyes, the company said.

The list of substances and their hazardous properties was included in a statement submitted to the High Court for a secret

hearing in July when INEOS sought an injunction against anti-fracking protesters.

https://drillordrop.com/2017/11/27/revealed-ineos-secret-court-evidence-on-hazards-of-shale-site-materials/

“More lives at risk” from Cuadrilla’s revised traffic plans for proposed Roseacre Wood fracking site

The company said the risk to public safety remained low. A spokesperson said:

“The new multiple routes proposed will lessen impact on any one area. New mitigations, such as passing places and having no HGV movements at the weekend, the peak time of heavy road usage by vulnerable users,

have been introduced to ensure maximum safety for all.”

But Roseacre Awareness Group, which has opposed the site for nearly four years, described the new routes as unsuitable for heavy vehicles and risky for other road users.

The group’s chair, Jim Nisbet said:

“The routes they are now proposing, in addition to that rejected by the Inspector at the original Inquiry, are just as unsuitable.

“We accept that the roads are used by HGVs and agricultural vehicles presently but they are not 44 ton six axled HGVs as utilised by the fracking industry.

There are those who don’t seem to understand the difference and perhaps they need to

visit the local area to truly understand the reasons why we believe Cuadrilla’s new proposals are no better

than their original”

Interesting blog by Tina Rothery.

Reasons to be Fearful... 1,2,3 +

Will the shale gas industry damage our water, pollute our air and negatively impact our health?

Will it do economic harm too by making the area less attractive for investors, home buyers and residents?

These are the types of questions that have brought residents in the UK to hundreds

of public meetings across the country where shale gas development is proposed.

Many of us have found research that gives cause for concern, yet others seem to think that the industry

is a positive thing for our communities.

It's hard to find a point of agreement but I want to put forward some of the research that led me to spend almost the entire year at the side of the busy A583 between Kirkham and Blackpool - not a sacrifice anyone would make lightly.

“This is going to put even more people’s lives at risk.

These rural lanes and villages are not suitable for this type of heavy traffic or industry.”

I have been thinking about Tremors,Earthquakes because this is why Fracking was stopped in the UK Back in 2011.

Tina Rothery and others i have noticed writing about this lately so putting thoughts down.

Just a reminder from Tina Rothery.

Someone recently said they thought the link between Blackpool earthquakes of 2011 (58 events in total) wasn't absolutely made with Cuadrilla's fracking site - the link below takes you to the official earthquake monitoring British Geological Survey and in part says:

[in Lancashire, UK, 58 earthquakes were linked to fluid injection during hydraulic fracturing at the Preese Hall well in 2011 (de Pater and Baisch, 2011). The largest, on 1 April 2011, had a magnitude of 2.3 and was felt locally. These hydraulic fracture treatments were carried out during exploration of a shale gas reservoir in the Bowland basin, Lancashire. A further magnitude 1.5 ML earthquake was felt on 27 May, 2011 and also linked to hydraulic fracture treatments, leading to the suspension of operations at Preese Hall.

...In total, 58 earthquakes were detected in the time period between 31 March and 30 August 2011, nearly all of these either during or within a few hours of fracturing operations at Preese Hall. De Pater and Baisch (2011) concluded that the earthquake activity was caused by fluid injection directly into a nearby fault zone, which reduced the effective normal stress on the fault and caused it to fail repeatedly in a series of small earthquakes.]

Exploration for shale gas DOES cause seismic activity.

Enough for now there is much more to think about.Just one more thing i have been thinking about.

I mean going to sleep in a town where vertical and horizontal drilling is happening in all directions can gve you a few sleepless nights.

I feel like a octopus with tentacles is beneath the town and if tremors happen again i will be down to that site to have a few harsh words.

Earthquakes,Tremors caused by Fracking.

Who is responsible for damage done.Insurers do they cover damage such as man made earthquakes not naturally occuring.

Any insurers about.Because the people of Great Britain need to know if the virus is to spread.

Why is each Fracking Site a separate Limited Company,if one goes bad what happens. We have seen how long it gets them to clean up.

Who pays.Or who pays for the clean up if one goes bust.

A limited company can just close shrug their shoulders head for the hills and the taxpayer will have to pay for the clean up.

House prices drop like a stone in areas near Fracking Sites.

Police costs, about 4 million now and Fracking has not even kicked off big time yet.

Anyone have your say Fracking may be coming to a place near you soon.

Bye for now

Tawnyowl.
