Hi,

I've had a similar problem and was wondering if I could gain some advice.

I have received a CPP parking ticket on a University's grounds.

They have put in my number plate incorrectly by one letter.

Should I contact the company to tell them they've put someone else's ticket on my car

(to act coy- I was parked incorrectly!).

Or should I completely leave it and not contact them?

Any advice on how best to avoid this would be appreciated.

NOOOOO.

never contact them,

if they now write to you it must be within a specific time period

or they lose the right to make a claim.

If you contact them they will just alter their paperwork and lie to you and others about the event.

As they have the wrong data they have screwed themselves so any contact will be by misrepresenting themselves to the DVLA

They cannot use past information ,

they have to apply for the keeper details for each event,

even if they are on the same day.

You coud have sold the car at lunchtime and the new keeper got the second ticket in the pm. (for example)

They would then have to produce a paper trail that says they relied on the data given by the DVLA

or they run the risk of getting their collars felt for criminal harassment

( I wish it did happen to these cowboys but theoretically possible).

You now have something to beat them with if they do try an claim from

you so dont lose the ticket, keep it safe for at least a year, they have a habit of digging up old claims.
