This Citizens Advice link may be worth a read (I know it states the information is for NI only but it is still relevant)

Hi

My relative took his dog in to be speyed and she died after being left to (internally) bleed to death after the locum vet agreed to hospitalize her and then went out on a visit leaving her unattended.

Thanks

Sorry to here that sad news and my heart goes out to your relative as it can be hard losing a beloved pet in such circumstances.

Please have a good read of the links I posted.

Have they followed the Veterinary Practice Complaints Procedure?

If they are registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS): http://www.rcvs.org.uk/home/ have you made a complaint to them?

Have you sent a Subject Access Request (SAR) to the Veterinary Practice?

Thanks for your reply.

They are all devastated.

He spoke to the vet who said initially she died from shock and then said from blood loss..which we both know are one and the same really.

He has collected her and is having a post mortem carried out by another vet. He has also got the report off the vet which mentions hospitalising her..Btw. ..this is not a service this practice offers as it is one vet (owner) and no vet nurses! He has applied a pressure bandage?? For a haematoma that he states had grown later!

He will know more when the pm report is completed.

Thanks

OMG this is so sad & utterly traumatic for the poor dog.

I do hope you are able to get the resolution you seek.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every single minute of it!!
