Hello… sorry for butting in… I have a similar problem. I worked for 3 years as a PA to my disabled brother, starting in July 2011 and I received my first holiday pay the following August.

 

After a period of illness I decided to leave in September 2014 giving only a week's notice… however, I ensured that there would be no gap in cover as my sister was able to take up the position straightaway.

 

I had received my holiday pay as usual the month before, but my employer deducted it from my final wage, saying that the holiday year started in April and I was not entitled to any holiday pay.

 

Having looked at my contract, there is nothing in writing which states when or how holiday pay is accrued, and I assumed it would be a year from commencement of employment. I have written to them several times but they have failed to reply.:-(
