I have got a new part time job, induction was today, and I am being paid for it. I will be on an hourly rate when I start working, but do not know when this will be. Do I sign off now, or when I actually know when I start working my first shift?

Technically, I suspect your first day of employment would be the induction day. However, if you don't expect to start your first shift for another week or two, I would recommend declaring the earnings from today's efforts when you next sign on. You will need to present a payslip as proof of earnings.. Tip: Insist on a copy of all the forms filled in at the JCP+.

When you finally get to start the new job, use the date of your first shift as the commencement date - You may want to explain the situation to the Job Centre adviser if you decide to continue signing on.
