Do you RENT your home,

If so, then you will know that good landlords are very very hard to find,

Getting a repair done can be very difficult, or have you rented from a landlord who would suit the name slumlord more.

There is currently no compulsory registration scheme for landlords or letting agents, I am petitioning the government to sort this out, Compulsory registration will help improve the industry, keep tenants safe from rogue landlords, and improve the quality of properties for rent. Please click the LINK below and sign this petition, You never know, it may help to improve your housing situation

Tenants have to go through extensive vetting systems!!

but what do landlords have to do, nothing, how do you know that your deposit is safe.

This system i propose will ensure all landlords are solvent, mortgages are up to date, deposits are securely held, AND that Letting agents and landlords alike act in a responsible manor, This is something that has been over looked for too long, So help weed the crooks out of the system

Please sign the petition below, all you have to do is follow the link.

Are you sure there are no hoops for landlords to jump through?

LAs normally have their own rules

There are legal minimums in place as well. Deposits have to be protected in a third party scheme and all enforceable by court.

Also legislation coming in soon to prevent revenge evictions abusing section 21

Not all LLs go through agents, ll's need to be made to register with some authority, this will ensure tenants are secure, just because a LL is registered with a LA, that doesnt mean they will do the repairs etc, we are will an LA, getting recourse for issues is not easy, registration will make this better for all, better housing and better tenants

TOTALLY debt free as of 2007, Fantastic,

If there is to be a compulsory (& presumably searchable) Register of LLs, equanimity demands a similar Register of Tenants IMO

Thats reasonable to think, but i am only coming from the point of view as a tenant, i would think that if it did come to pass, they would do something for tenants

Landlords / Letting Agents can check credit reference agencies and other references. It is a little more difficult for a tenant to discover if a Landlord will be a good one.
