Hello,

I opened a Tesco credit card with a £400 limit.

I spent £399.94 on it. Then they added about £6 interest which took me over the limit and they charged me a £12 over-limit fee.

Can they do this?

Thanks

you can reclaim it

it is a PENALTY and unlawful under FCA guidelines

why not ring and ask them to remove it

I rang them and they removed it but only as a gesture and they said they would only do it this once.

Be sure to challenge ANY over limit or late payment charges if they happen again, although the better advice of course is to avoid them in the first place :)
