HI

My Fiancé has been working at a particular company for four years and for the first two years he has been working as a warehouse assistant, until he was given an opportunity to go for training and given a formal education background for procurement officer, where he was awarded certificates for. He has now been working as a procurement officer for two years yet his job title hasn't been changed nor his salary, so basically he is being used as cheap labour. He has approached management, and HR and to date nothing has happened to change the situation, what is a way to go about this predicament, as it's been going on for two years now.

So he is on the same salary as he was pre training and as a Warehouse Assistance Lucy? What are others in the same company earning that have this title?

Companies wish to minimise cost and while he continues to stay there they will continue to pay him what they can get away with, personally i would suggest brushing up the CV and hitting the jobs market once he has secured a job somewhere else go back and see if they would like to offer more. but sadly there is nothing in law you can do to compel them to pay more.

EDIT: Sorry I did not see you are in SA, assumed Croydon was the UK Croydon. I can't advise on SA law but the rest of the advise still stands.

It is easier to enter a rich man than for a camel to pass a needle
