I received a claim form from Lowells re:shop direct/Littlewoods.

I acknowledge receipt and requested 28 days for defence.

However with xmas and new year I overlooked it and now have a judgement against me on the 3/1/14

I believe the debt may be statute barred as i think it was from 2007, but also there may be some unfair charges on there also.

How do i appeal this judgement.

Sorry, I Meant What Would Be Reasonable Reason To Get A Set Aside? I Filled Acknowledgment On 12, Thought I Had28 Days From This, Not 28 From Receipt Of FoRm. Do I Have A Way Forward, Other Than Pay Up

What do you mean by you "requested 28 days" to put in your Defence when you acknowledged? Did you actually write to the Court and request this giving some reason why you would not be able to defend within 28 days of the issue date?

What was the actual issue date?

Issue date was 22/11/13.

received around5/6 december.

Post has been abysmal here for some time.

Replied on the 11/12/13 via online.

I assumed 28 days was from date of acknowledgement, so thought I'd be fine dealing with after xmas.

logged in today to find judgement has been made.

Claim is for 250 + interest from sept 09 onwards.

I assume this is when lowell got the debt.

This may also mean the debt was from 08, not 07 and therefore wouldn't be SB.

I think this could be difficult to set aside, especially if your only defence was that it was statute barred.

How much interest are they charging?

Can you actually afford to pay it? If you do so within 28 days it won't go on the Registry of Judgments.
