Hello,

I hope someone can help me with this pcn.

I received a pcn for parking in a restricted area.

I have attached the photo evidence I found on the pcn payment website, and as you can see the photos were taken in complete darkness. While you can see my car's plate numbers, you cannot see the street at all.

Is there a basis to appeal this pcn given that you cannot see a contravention in the photos.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Not sure pics are required for a parking contravention. Doubt if an appeal would succeed on the basis of the poor quality of the pics alone. However, the general advice is to always appeal within the discounted period. I suggest you scan and post up the PCN (after obscuring any identifying info) so it can be checked for any possible fatalities. Also, what about the markings and signage... was it all compliant?

The advice I offer will be based on the information given by the person needing it. All my advice is based on my experiences and knowledge gained in working in the motor and passenger transport industries in various capacities. Although my advice will always be sincere, it should be used as guidence only.

I would always urge to seek face to face professional advice for clarification prior to taking any action.

Photos are not needed at all - they are merely to help clarify the matter.

The CEO will have noted down the number plate, make and model, and probably the serial number of the tax disc. If you wanted to deny the vehicle was there at all, they would probably ask for a photocopy of the tax disc, and so you would be disproven and lose the appeal.
