hi, over the past few months i have been recieving letters for numerous things to do with my old car.

i have had so far

a speeding ticket

a fine and charge for none payment of road tax

and a parking ticket

the only problem is i sold the car in march 06 the guy who bought it was a trader so only filled in the yellow part of the form i sent this part off the following day but the car is still in my name. now i am being threatened with court action

am i liable for this mistake or is it the dvla's fault i really need some advice as this is getting me really stressed.

Hi...

You must inform the DVLA of the situation.Did you get a receipt from the dealer?

If you did, send a copy to the DVLA.The dealer will also keep a record of the sale of the vehicle. He should have new owners details if he sold it on.Maybe an idea to call the dealer and ask those questions.

You should have got a letter from DVLA as confirmation when they received the yellow slip. I would suggest you contact them to find out what has happened and why they don't have details of the trader you sold the car to.
