:confused: help needed.

i have closed down my bank account with rbs. ive had the threatening phone calls from them. their last call was to offer to combine the overdraft from both accounts, add it onto my rbs loan, and this would cost me £160. 00 per month for 5 years. i told them i needed to think about it. They have since done what they suggested and are waiting for their first payment. Do i pay???????????????

hi there, thanks for your reply.

The phone call from the bank was one of many. They threatened me with court, bailiff and having my name on the ccj's.

I have a personal loan of £5000

a current account which was £1,257.00 overdrawn and a bills account which was £635.03 overdrawn.

They offered to consolidate these overdrafts onto my existing loan, this would stop them taking it further, i was to pay £160 a month. They would send me the paperwork after i had paid 2 installments of £160. Then they would know i was serious about paying it back.

I told them i would need to think about it, as im still paying back the unpaid direct debits as well as continuing with the usual payments each month from my new account.

I recieved a letter from them, to say they had done what they suggested and were awaiting my first payment.

Do i pay the full amount of £160, or the agreed loan payment for the original £500 loan.

I am new to this, and dont know how to do a link, sorry

p.s i have sent my first letter to the bank, complete with spreadsheet

It has left me with many sleepless nights worrying about what to do.

I didnt think they could do it either, but seems like they can do what they like.

They make threats of courts, and bailiffs when we owe them money and get us into a blind panic. But its a different story when its them that caused the debt in the first place, and what we have to go through to get it back.

i will keep you posted.

hello, im about to send my second letter requesting the return of my charges, looking at the templates you have, the second letter starts with sorry you have failed to respond. The problem i have, is they did respond, with the usual letter of get stuffed. so do i alter the start of the letter.

You need to read the complete sentence.......it states that they have failed to respond in a satisfactory manner. This is correct in your case, as in most, so the template should be fine.
